I was always a big reader, and still am. In contrast to your upbringing, my father is a Bill O’Reilly worshipping, privilaged and spoiled Italian American Manchild with a bit of misoginsitc jerk thrown in. I cannot tell you how many conversations I’ve had with him recently trying to get him to understand that America

How do you feel about teaching it at that age? I’m a teacher, too, but I teach elementary (5th grade). I understood what they wanted me to understand, but I just didn’t relate to The Great Gatsby at 15. It was really difficult for me to make personal connections to it, and I’m not quite sure why that is. I straight up

I love Mad Men, partially BECAUSE Don Draper is a lonely, miserable fraud. I wanted to straight up strangle him for much of the series, but I still loved the show overall. He’s just such a broken, miserable person. I found it interesting to see where the show would take that (no comment on the ending, though I enjoyed

You’re about the ten millionth person to say this. So far it hasn’t done a thing.

She is KILLING it.

Not even kidding, but I completely forgot that Rob existed until you mentioned that. I thought that Kourtney and Kendall looked like they were having a lot of fun in the video fucking around (Khloe, too), and I was surprised by Caitlyn at the end, but in a good way. Totally picked up on the multiple Scott cameos...and

Yeah, and the fact that he is in there more than once, too.

What do you teach? I commented somewhere upthread that I understood what The Great Gatsby was supposed to be about in high school thanks to my teacher and endless classroom discussion, but I really didn’t *get* it until I re-read it in my early twenties. I don’t think that 15 year old me was able to relate/really make

I just choked on my wine. Thank you.

Okay, but think about if one of your friends did this in real life. Not so cute anymore, right? My eyes would be rolling into the back of my head so hard.

Kourtney is totally killing it in the video, too (yes, I watched it *hangs head in shame*). She looks like she is just blatantly making fun of Kris and trying to be as obnoxious as possible. In fact, the faux happiness is the most emotion I’ve seen on her face in awhile, and I kind of love her for it. Totally making

But still...high school? I mean, they fucking hammer the symbolism and themes home over your head ad nauseum (or at least, they did at my high school). I didn’t enjoy Gatsby until I picked it up again as an adult. I always was a reader, but at 15, I really couldn’t relate too much to what was going on. I still KNEW

But the COSTUMES. Ugh. I want.

I found the CGI to be incredibly distracting as well. Would it have killed them to shoot on Long Island?

Speaking of sountracks, the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, though <3

Still sulking over here in my Long Island corner pissed that they didn’t film on the North Shore. Australia is NOT the correct setting. Baz Luhrmann totally Baz Luhrmanned the hell out of that movie (typical, so IDK what I was expecting?) Still, you’re right about DiCaprio.

Meh, Claritin doesn’t work for me (prob cause I was prescribed it at 7). Zyrtec-D with the pseudoepherine is the TRUE nectar of the gods.

You need the Zyrtec-D with the pseudoephedrine behind the counter. Benedryl just makes me pass the fuck out too.

I have allergies. I recently went to a wedding at the Rainbow Room that was COVERED in flowers. The centerpieces were like, the size of my body. I survived.

See, I couldn’t care less about the Christian aspect, but I HATE the cup. Looks prettier with snowflakes or *some* design on it. Festive. I am not religious in the slightest bit, mind you. The red cup just looks blah to me.
