LOL "partying"

I, and the vast majority of women I know, have a preference for female doctors for valid reasons, which don't concern you, and it certainly doesn't make me a bigot. I'm not even talking about huge generalised explanations for why US women don't get exams on schedule. I don't live in the USA and never have. I'm not

ALL my friends when I lived overseas avoided smears because 95% of the doctors were male there and it creeped them out having a random man peering up them. If there was an option for each of them to see a female doctor, they'd be in like a shot. I'm not fear-mongering. I'm saying how many of us feel. And how we feel

Kiss kiss! Hope your day is better than your life has obviously been!

DUDE I don't know what I would've done with the official sanction. Was wringing my hands til that point. Hands totally wrung out - have to wear vaseline gloves to bed now. *sob*

You're right. WHEN WILL MEN GET A FAIR GO IN THIS CRUEL WORLD

Yeah, women ending up being more comfortable with female doctors because of the way, y'know, men keep raping & assaulting & patronising & oppressing them is JUST LIKE RACISM.

Oh I said the majority, did I? Did I? I thought it was one example. Oh GEEZ
Now I'm all OFFENDED - wait, no I'm not, I'm moving on, LOOK, I totally recommend it

And you can piss off - hurrah! Your opinion on my "non-progressive attitude" is about as important to me as a male doctor's right to be an ob-gyn for women who are more comfortable with a female doctor.

Glad that after telling me why I'm wrong about my own preference you finally got to the bit where I'm allowed to choose whatever doctor I want.

I posted another comment somewhere here about how my flatmate who was a doctor told me when he worked in Emergency the guys all used to fight over who got to treat the hotties. It really creeped me out and doesn't scream "sectioning things off" to me.

Like I said, I don't give a fuck about their feelings in the matter. I'm the patient, and I love having awesome female doctors.

All these people pointing out the exceptions to the stereotype & suspicion are great, GO THE NON-CREEPS, but there's still the multitude of perverted male ob-gyns every year taking secret footage, sexually abusing, and taking advantage of their patients - I'm going to bypass that possibility COMPLETELY, thanks! (I do

COOL CONDESCENDING, let's have an ARGUMENT, on the INTERNET!!!! I can see one of us is TOTALLY going to change the other's mind here because we're both having SUCH a good time.

GROSS, NO, I'm hand-flapping about that! I had a physio when I was 16 who swore I had to take my top and bra off for him to work properly on my shoulder. Christ I was naive!

Gyno health procedures can be stressful enough without wondering if your doc is storing you away in his wank bank. Men are rougher with a speculum, in my experience, too, pumping your hole open like they're jacking up a car, not warming it up etc. And EW a man with a speculum creeps me out.

I wouldn't mind a lesbian

Me: It doesn't sit well with me = I'm uncomfortable with having straight men poke around in my vagina.
You: IGNORANT! NOT ALL MENNNNNNN

One thing that really hardened my resolve was a flatmate who was a doctor telling me how when he worked in Emergency they all fought over who got to treat the "hotties." You can't tell me there's not going to be some mental self-hi-fiving there if they get to do a pelvic exam or see breasts.

You're not the only one! I am really uncomfortable with men who specifically choose to specialise in vaginas and beyond. It doesn't sit well with me and I don't really give a fuck about their feelings in the matter. Because I can, I choose to see female doctors (especially for gyno things). I feel much less of a power

Shhhh.
