I know many black people who loved the wire and consider it a classic, but it isn't one of those shoes we constantly reference for some reason. I was still pretty young when it was in its prime and we didn't have movie channels so I couldn't speak to it myself. However I would consider it a classic.

I believe this is more based in cultural and environmental differences than it is race.
