3rd Gear VinFast: I’ve test driven the VF8, nothing special. However, I’ve seen the VF9 (3 row SUV) and that thing looks legit awesome. They should’ve released that one first but then the rep told me it would likely be $79K which means they would have to produce it in the North Carolina plant to qualify for the tax…

They may have a viable product in their home captive market, but here in the US, their cars are way overpriced and underperforming.  I see no path at all unless they cut their prices in half.

I would guess it’s more like an attempt to get funding based on hype. They are a very real company with real products in other countries, just nothing to offer the US market right now. So they’re somewhere between Nikola/Lordstown & Rivian.

I’ve had that happen, too, where the dealer quoted me one rate and then I had to re-sign documents because the rate was actually a tad lower. But they were able to take electronic signatures; I didn’t have to physically go to the dealer and sign anything.
