It is disgusting to me, this criminalization of debt for poor people. We then levy fines, or put them in jail, thereby taking them away from their jobs (or the opportunity to find work). making them less able to pay.

1) Ft. Hood. We had an entire school full of armed teachers, only it wasn’t a school, it was a military base, and they weren’t teachers, they were soldiers who were trained in combat. This was the wet dream of the NRA’s “Good guy with a gun” scenario. 13 dead, 30 hospitalized.

It’d be great. Give the teachers guns. When shots go off, they can all go into their hallways, see each other armed, and have NO IDEA if the terrorist is another teacher.

My dad’s a farmer, and I am not. Being a farmer is very, very, very difficult and the rate of crop failure is heartbreaking and entirely unpredictable. Remember that short uptick in people refugee volunteering on vacation, until they realized that volunteering meant literally working with refugees (elderly and sick) and not just getting some selfies.
