I don’t get it... the last few episodes from her disappearance on seem to take place in the span of 1-2 days tops.. In the 80's that was like a nothing time to be missing as a teen as your parents would just assume you were with your friend. Hell her parents even DID assume.

That’s why people liked her. She was weird and felt like a bit of an outcast/nerd and people identified with that. So, in YOUR opinion, she “sucked” (people still say that?) but a lot of others didn’t feel she “sucked”.

Even trails that are popular or “easy” can require more preparation than people think. For example, I was shocked by the number of people on Diamond Head who were wearing flip flops or other open shoes. It’s not exactly a paved trail and some points are pretty narrow and steep!
