I wish it worked that way for me.
Thank you for the suggestion, I agree with you. I watched both seasons of catastrophe and because I loathe them (her specially), I won't be back for a third. The only thing I liked was the daughter's name.

I enjoyed the first season and like you I did lots of eye rolling in the beginning. His sessions with the therapist were always good for a laugh.
My comment was not political in any way.
Benefits Street was just exploitative and crass, with an undertow of laughing at it's participants.
I do not care if it was a done for Tory propaganda pruposes.
My reaction to season was exactly the same. The characters became so unlikeable that I couldn't wait for it to end.
Based on this review, I am happily skipping season 3.
I am forever grateful for that way of thinking, It gives better quality seasons than hanging in there and writing crap to get to the magical 100 episodes at which point syndication kicks in and the real $ is earned.
That's because they do.
Agree,
I always got the sense that Paul thinks he IS the real star of the show, not Mary.
He will soon find out how wrong he is. I think the Holiday version ABC did last year with her, fared better.
Touché
He wasn't as kind in the one season American version that came and went with very little fanfare.
It was called the great summer baking show or something like it.
I lost all respect for PBS when I realized how much of the British shows get edited for content, etc.
Also, they must think we still live in a vacuum. Why do they wait almost a year to air the previous series.
It's almost impossible to not know the winner beforehand.
Do you think it may have to be with the kind of show's channel 4 is known for broadcasting? They are the ones who gave us benefits street after all
As a matter of fact The BBC announced today they were starting a rival show with the Sue, Mel, Mary and a new added host.
As silly as it is, this I won't be able to get pass.
As a non sci fi fan, I am surprised to say it is. Won't say REALLY good, but, season one was certainly entertaining.
Although I don't watch Doctor Who, the analogy you make is very fitting.
This is my first SF show and it's stuff like this why they usually don't work for me. My mind can't get past details like those.
There are a few hot and sexy women in their early 50's that could fit this role well. Here in America, they would…
"Besides, Tricia Helfer is five years older than Ellis - in Women On US Television Years, that makes her old enough to be his Grandma!"
I am aware that to watch this show requires suspension of reality. Having said that, casting someone to play his mother who looks younger than him is ridiculous.
I didn't expect Tyne Daly, but this choice doesn't fly.
Like you, I wonder how they will pull off a different tone.
I am giving it one more episode but life is too short to hang in there with bad TV.
One of the most boring hour of television I've seen recently.
I wish they would allow foreigners to pay the fee nod have access to their programming, lot's of people would be happy to do so.
Instead, we are blocked so they can offer BBC America. The first time I watched that channel I realized how much contempt the Brits have for our viewing habits, based on the showings on the…
