Let’s be honest, the little red shorts, iconic or not, are pretty damned silly-looking.

What anti-men stuff did you see in this movie?

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. I had no doubt that it was going to be funny, but it very much exceeded my expectations. I’m still twitching a bit over the Patti character, but it was a really good time at the movies.

Fanboys have had an outsized sense of their importance and power ever since Batman & Robin flopped. They claimed at the time that bad publicity from the Internet killed the movie, but the reality was that it was a piece of shit that nobody wanted to see. I remember watching the trailer in a theater in March or April

Fair point.

The original was juvenile too, you just love it from your childhood and are willing to look over that.

I have to say, I was shockingly pleased by the movie. It was actually really decent. It’s not the original GB, but it’s not trying to be either. What it is, is a surprisingly decent film that pays proper respect to the original without trying to BE the original.

I can imagine 4/chan (but I would never visit to confirm), but Reddit is definitely having a conniption over the fact that the movie not only got good reviews, it was successful. They bombarded a thread where an analyst said the movie would need 45-55 million dollars opening to be successful with predictions that it

Speaking of sexual orientation, while I get the complaints that Kevin was unbelievably dumb in the universe of this film....I love how they play to that in film.

Also, Melissa McCarthy was not a fat slob, and Leslie Jones was not just a token stereotype. Shocking!

I mean, let’s be honest with ourselves. You hated this movie with the fire of 10,000 suns from the moment you laid eyes on the first trailer (perhaps before, but I first saw it after the trailer). You showed up on every single post about it to talk about how much it was going to suck. You weren’t going to like this

I won’t lie, I am really enjoying the lengths the babies of the internet are trying to go to find any reason to call it a “failure”. It is so enjoyable, especially when we get quotes like this that make it clear the studio is (publically at least) happy.

Sure you didn’t accidentally walk into The Legend of Tarzan or something? Cause there was actual applause in the theater after the credits started to roll where I was

I hope the sequel gives Holtzmann and Patty more character/story time, now that Abby and Erin had theirs in the first movie. It was fun and I really enjoyed it, but Needs Moar Holtz and Patty!

While I didn’t like it all that much I’m really happy we’re getting a sequel. My main problem with this film was that nearly 90% of it was a set-up so hopefully, in sequel, having that out of the way, we can get a proper film.

They just did. There are now 3 Ghostbuster films, I’d say this was the second best.

And here come the bros to try and tell the executives what actually constitutes a success. Because clearly they know more than the studios that do the projections and estimates.

They already did.

I liked the GB movie, and if you stayed all the way to the end..Patty, listening to EVP, asks "Who is ZUUL?" so....

You mean to tell me no one’s childhood was ruined and everyone survived this apparently worst movie ever?
