i think i could watch movies nonstop for another 32 years and 2001 wouldn't leave my top ten films of all time. i think there are a few "better", but 2001 is a marvel of human ambition. aguirre, the wrath of god and apocalypse now redux are about the only thing in its caliber, ambition-wise.
Did you miss their acceptance speech? Or any interviews concerning the Academy? They're like Dustin Hoffman, respectful, but not giving a shit either.
The very simple math of black populations in America and European countries which dominate nominations comprise 13% in America and UK/France/Germany/Sweden/Italy/etc (countries with strong film cultures) have about 5%. Asian countries have significantly less diversity. If all else is equal, there should be about 2…
Why does Mystery Team not have a cult following? Explain, universe.
High Tension was a pretty shitty, cliched movie before the twist. But, it had beautiful and talented Cecile de France carrying it. That twist though…There's good audience manipulation: Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Hitchcock and then there's M Night territory.
damn austrians did a pretty badass babadook with "goodnight mommy." it follows is too distinctly american for a euro remake.
possession, them, weekend.
porn is supposed to produce enjoyment. not even the torturers in "martyrs" receive any pleasure. "martyrs" was not meant to be a "fun" movie.
is there ever not a good time to plug the fugs, "mutant stomp" (nine-pronged dong song)?
One of my very favorite movies of the century. Tried recommending this to people more than any film since Eye of God. Hillcoat was supposed to be in pre-production for Blood Meridian at one point. Nick Cave, your music is awesome, but for the love of Jebus, please write more screenplays.
why would anyone ever treasure something of cricket's. dennis would probably kill him and forget about it later in the episode.
This is a badass album that's also expensive as shit. After I heard "Light Blue" on the Light in the Attic Country Funk compilation, I had to find it. The comp is a great jump off for true outlaw country, and well…funk.
Ahh, Martin Shkreli, may you be passed around…uh, like currency, like you said. Most heartwarming story update of the year.
kinda worse when the kid's own public pretender gives them that soundbyte when trying to plead not guilty
Its all right, I just assume everyone on here speaks Simpsons as second nature.
These docs casting light on the broken criminal justice system will continue to come out at a greater pace until something happens. The world is getting smaller and surveillance is becoming the norm. In theory, this kind of thing should happen less. The mafia was essentially stripped of its power in the 80s after…
Please don't confuse this, west memphis 3, staircase, etc with that bullshit. Read up on Carter; Bob Dylan, Yahweh bless him, didn't.
He never denies she came to the property and took the pictures. Then left and gave him the copy and the info.
You're wagging the dog with that logic. They had the fire, which was witnessed. They probably have them all the time; this is a junkyard. The police knew this and exploited the fact by dumping the remains there (and other places, which makes no sense if you were Avery).
