Very good thing y’all don’t do review scores anymore, seeing so much more vitriol toward the Polygon review even though both of you share relatively the same (completely reasonable) perspective towards the game.

maybe instead of being a pedantic rules lawyer, you could try, uh
Played up to around rank 12 or 13, I had my fun, though matches at that level usually boiled down to one of the following:
yes it’s very helpful to have “BEST ANIME WAIFUS xXx” constantly on the front page of steam, super informative!
it’s like one of those videos from the 90s that’s been repeatedly copied across dozens of VHS tapes
General, a neW sETtleMeNT nEEdS y-y-y-yOUR DeAtH
This strat is usually referred to as “the microwave”.
the projection is strong with this one
hoo boy, I’ve been marathon-ing though the anime recently, it’s had me completely hooked. It sucks knowing that the series will be hitting a dead end, but the moral pathos of the Chimera Ant arc has been so top-notch that I honestly don’t mind.
I’m gonna guess the order of events was:
What’s wrong with a community person who makes these games appealing to a larger audience, and making a living off of it? I don’t follow his video output anymore, but in the long run, youtube personalities like him probably contribute to a ton of newbies getting into the game because he isn’t *so* far away in terms of…
Considering the layoffs they had, them totally missing their “Beta 2015" window, and Bethesda practically saying outright “we don’t like where this project went”, I’m pretty confident at this point that BattleCry is either going to be shuttered or the assets turned into something else entirely.
I don’t think the episodic structure is a bad idea at all for a story-focused MMO, but it sounds like there’s three things holding it back:
Remember back in the Wii/DS/PSP era, and how embarrassingly easy it was to pirate on those platforms? The DS just needed simple flashcarts, while the PSP and Wii had easy ways of knocking them into debug modes where you could install custom launchers allowing you to run ISOs off the PSP SD card and USB 2.0 drives for…
I don’t see the point? There were plenty of bad, broken, unplayable games being put on Steam before Early Access and no one was demanding that they be sued or something for making crap.
for as much as people harp on it, the judge system (despite screwing you over really often) was an incredibly clever way of mixing up the missions, it just needed to be harder to exploit
this is such good news, and I’m not looking forward to all the weirdos defending the “artistic integrity” of a gross scene like that in a kids game
that’s a pretty wide generalization and probably speaks more to your selective memory/poor choices of games purchased during that time period
I can’t speak about New Vegas without gushing, they hit the right balance between the modern accessibility of FO3, and FO1/2's focus on wickedly fun player builds as well as characters who really drew you into their personal stories. I think I’ve played through it 3 or 4 times and I’m drawn in every single time.
not sure what the outrage is about, this is pretty standard fare as far as “game of the year edition” packs go, not much different than something like destiny with TTK
