I'm skeptical about MTV. On the one hand, I've already endorsed turning it into "Real World: Underhill", on the other hand they'll probably make all the scientists sexy twenty-somethings. Logan's Run might be more their demographic.

I thought I heard some talk of them doing Dan Simmons' Hyperion, the first book of that should divide neatly into a short six or eight episode series. I just finished Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars, which reminded me somewhat of Dune with its ecological themes. That's one I could see making a good television program.
