Especially watching Metalhead and seeing that the US military is working with Boston Dynamics to build exactly those kind of weaponized robodogs. Or that the society he envisioned in Nosedive is seriously being tested out right now in China: https://www.wired.com/story/age-of-social-credit/  Yeah, he does have some

National Anthem is one of those stories that executes its premise well, but it can be a struggle to even get past that basic idea. “The One Where The Prime Minister Fucks A Pig” is a tough sell and I think the nutshell description of the episode makes it sound so stupid that it colors how we view the whole thing.

Shut Up and Dance is so specifically designed to be “edgy” that it might have tricked the reviewer?

There might be an episode or two that I actively dislike more - because I think they botch the ending, or because *I* am personally offended by their hottake. But those episodes at least get credit for trying.

Nosedive is my number 1, with White Bear a close second.  I got all misty eyed and kinda cried during Nosedive’s conclusion.  Is that weird?

Playtest is the worst.

I don’t think you know what you're talking about here. Yeah Tracy Chapman, Freddie Mercury, Quentin Crisp and countless other folks are gay and gay icons. As well on straight people or fictional characters who embrace and support the LGBT+ community.

For all the attempts to explain it, it was inexplicable. That’s the best part.

Jack catching up to Hannibal in Italy was the most glorious and rewarding two minutes of revenge I have ever seen on broadcast television.  I loved that Fueller wasn’t afraid to put his beloved through the wringer, and that if a character was capable of overcoming Lecter’s ambush predator tactics, he could be in real

Thank you! Law and Order is an incredibly addictive, watchable show with a perfect formula. But that’s where the positives end. Like nearly every cop show on TV, except like The Wire, it shows a horribly skewed perspective of the justice system and makes cops out to be heroes. The interrogations on shows like Law and

Loved the ending. Thought it was just about perfect.

Wait, what? Dick Wolf’s L&O series are full of innocent people nearly hounded to death by eager cops, without a single word of remorse when the guilty is finally found.

It’s all in the service of ‘getting the scum off the streets’. It’s EXACTLY the mentality that resulted in real life cases like the Central Park Five.

What happened to your Fleabag recaps?

I wish they would do a cooking show with Mads in character.

Occasionally, I drop a television show to shatter on the floor — on purpose. I’m not satisfied when it doesn’t gather itself up again. Someday, perhaps, a show will come together.

A couple of my wife’s best friends from high school, who never dated, ended up getting married in their early 30s (him after a divorce from the woman he dated in college, her coming off a string of almost-but-not-quite relationships).  Their shared history and friendship definitely moved things along.

Same! The best rom coms in recent memory all went the “deep friendship to romance” route. You get invested in their connection before getting invested in their romance.

Randall Park alone makes this a must-see. Same reason I saw Ant-Man and the Wasp.

You have a two drink minimum and include sodas and non-alcoholic beverages in that, like they do at comedy clubs...

I don’t drink. Never have, never will. I still go to bars occasionally to hang out with friends or whatever, and I at least order a Coke. I might get a water to chug if I’ve been walking around and thirsty, but that’s it. I can’t imagine going to a bar, especially something as specialized as a taproom, and sitting
