another tip for light bulbs is to experiment with lower wattage. as you mentioned the 60W in the bathroom, mine has 4 bulbs. i only use two, and went down to 40W. i have the other two screwed in loosely to tighten when company comes over, but 2@40W is all that's needed for me.
