Counterpoint: it is not the right call.

Brady also entering the refs huddle as they made decisions. “No Tom, totally cool you listen in.”

Throw in the fact that the pats were shoving the refs after and I think we now have updated video evidence that they’re held to a different standard than the rest of the NFL.

Then a touchback still isn’t correct, itd be NYJ ball at the one.

With Jerry pissed at him, poor Roger needs to get back on Bob Kraft’s good side to save his job.

With Rodgers out for the season, the the league officials in NY were told to make sure Brady gets to the postseason

That will ALWAYS be the tuck rule.

If it had been called a fumble on the field, I could have understood letting the call stand. But to see that replay and say there was significant enough evidence to overturn the call from a TD to fumble in the endzone is insane. It’s should-cost-someone-their-job level awful.

That play is like the Bush v. Gore of NFL plays: the result is unique for the desired outcome of a particular situation, and is not meant to set precedent.

Looking at the replay, I don’t think the hit or the turf impact did much damage. It looks to me like while he was airborn, Rodgers experienced a super-lucid moment of existential cosmic awe. He got a tiny glimpse of the void and now he’ll never be the same.

If I had to guess I’d say maybe an ascending aoritc aneurysm? The course of symptom progression makes sense

That’s a very irresponsible comment to make. The idea that only ugly people can be predators is a component of our rape culture and also just rude/superficial.

So TMZ didn’t mention that Blac Chyna is a former exotic dancer, so you did. OK...

“But why is the reigning nation champion playing a road game in a Friday night”

I haven’t seen an orangeman cause this much chaos for the national scene since every day this year.

Cash $$$, I read that last night and almost raised Jeff one Chad but I think Chads are usually blonde, gingers or if Canadian mulletized.

People used to routinely DIE on field when the game of football was played with light pads and no helmets. There were 19 fatalities in college football games in 1905 alone! Football is by its very nature a violent and dangerous game; getting rid of the equipment that ameliorates that danger will only make it worse.

a) It’s actually the large number of smaller hits that cause as much or more cumulative destruction to the brain than the knockout blows. Remember Junior Seau never had a diagnosed concussion.

I’m actually intrigued by the new fancy technology. Up until a year or so ago, all helmets were the same. Efforts were made to make the helmet lighter, but that’s about it. There wasn’t much technology at all. (Advancements were made to make the facemask easier to remove, but that’s unrelated to injury prevention.)
