I hope they do “Springtime for Hitler.”

Pretty much, yeah. I respect the hell out of Disney trying to do something different with the movie, but it has some very big problems. Characters, pacing, the editing, etc... It’s a worthy attempt, but one that really feels lacking, sadly. I enjoyed parts of it, but just didn’t walk out knowing I’d gotten my money’s

It’s some coinage from the 1970s, where the closer you get to approximating a human likeness, the more willing we are to accept its reality. But at a certain point, you get soooo close to replicating a human appearance that the result becomes disconcerting rather than accepted, and the bottom drops out. So if you see

My son enjoyed it. I did not. The bland characters reminded me too much of the prequels.

You saw this movie a second time? CGI Leia says “You’re braver than I thought.”

I had, until now, missed that The Deakins was lensing this. Makes sense given Villeneuve’s involvement. I am now a lock to see it. Watching a Deakins’ film is an illuminating experience. The shots in Sicario were just ... magnificently framed.

HE’S WORRIED ABOUT COOP

I rather like this one.

So, how is Trump not being investigated for treason? This really looks a lot like a conspiracy between billionaires to give control of America’s resources and political offices to a hostile foreign government.

Nice haul and all but I’m going to have to win to Erin purely because of the card Snoop wrote.

Twas the night before christmas and all through the mansion,

I don’t know if we can call K-2SO our favourite non-shit giving droid, given most of us probably haven’t seen Rogue One yet and that Chopper is a fierce contender for the prize.

“We could indeed buy our tickets online, and get our reserved seats, and show up five minutes before midnight; and for the vast majority of moviegoers, that will be their experience. Sterile, passionless, and without any human interaction. But that is not what the Star Wars experience is all about.”

That’s crazy low. They should be using civil forfeiture to collect assets from business and it’s owners/top leadership. It’s time to put some nails in the coffin.

Some people just REALLY want to get out of Detroit.

“the best of George Lucas’s “Star Wars” entries (“Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith”).”

It’s baffling not just that somebody wrote this, but that somebody edited it, and still another person signed off on it for publication. Doesn’t say much about quality control at the New Yorker.

Still, like a lot of Star Wars films, minor flaws kind of melt away, especially when you get to the third act, and Rogue One is no exception.
