I pre-ordered it and have been playing it on repeat all week. I love it!

hey hey hey there you internet critic, at least she wrote it herself.

If you look at TS’s actual history with feminism, she wasn’t really using it as a brand. What happened: she believed in equal rights for women when she was young, but was not calling herself a feminist (and she seemed afraid to even use that word, like a lot of women at the time). She was one of those young, naive, “I

I’m a fan, but IMO atypical. As a father of two teenage fans, my first exposure to her was as a writer (Love Story), For which I think she is simply outstanding. Add to it that she was/is a kid, and I was “wow”. Not a super fan of her voice (she’s no Whitney Houston), but as she’s become a super-celebrity haters will

You can sit with me.

Yeah, but she’s not necessarily a “celebrity” like a Kardashian or some has-been actor. She does write a lot of her music and sings and is pretty immersed in the production evolution of her show. I just wonder sometimes. She’s young, ambitious, and blasted to fame and that doesn’t always guarantee long term popularity

I used to live in her hometown, and knew people that interacted with her, served her, and never heard anything bad about her. Ever. The worst I ever heard was she was awkward and kinda snobby (the area she lived in was VERY snobby, so it’s to be expected)

I know it’s not a popular sentiment, but maybe TS is not a total fake, shifty, friend using, boyfriend exploiting, Kanye bully? Just a thought.

I’ve heard people talk about her accent but she’s easier to understand than a lot of dudes mumbling out there. Not the greatest rapper but I’ll take her over Taylor Swift any day.

It definitely doesn’t help that I’d never heard of Cardi B before this article.

Do people really not realize that the Look What You Made Me Do lyrics are all about Taylor’s public persona? She is obviously trolling Kanye a bit, but the lyrics are all about how she is sick of all the things that went into making her public persona and her public actions in service of that persona.

Thank you. This was what I wanted to post but had to go to a stupid meeting and cut my post real short.

“white mediocrity” Yeaaa.... she is famous and you are? Diminish this woman’s accomplishments is disgusting.

“On one side there’s Taylor Swift—white, blonde, moneyed, the daughter of a wealth management advisor, beloved/admired and deemed an “Aryan goddess” by neo-Nazis; on the other is Cardi B, brown-skinned, born in the Bronx to a Trinidadian mother and Dominican father, a former stripper and exotic dancer Vibe describes

Seriously, there are plenty of actual cases of discrimination that you don’t have to go and try to invent more. Can’t really make a case for the Billboard 100 being racist when it was dominated by a song called “Despacito” in Trump era America for a good chunk of the year.

Y’know... the notion of an artist “taking” the top spot from someone else is inherently stupid. Each artist created a work and published it. Billboard simply publishes a ranking based on accumulated marketplace data. To claim that an artist “took” the top spot is to claim an Oscar was “taken” from another actor by the

I can’t help but feel like this is glossing over the reality that there are vastly different audiences and what the Billboard Top 100 factors into their rankings means TSwift is going to be on top not because she is white, but because she has a larger audience. Sorry, it isn’t some proxy battle or anything.

Now, I don’t know where you’re from, but I’ve never tried murdering anyone at ages 13-15. I don’t think attempted murder is a common thought in most teenagers’ minds.

While I agree that they are still children and should not be named, I also think that this is not a mistake. It is a violent crime that should have serious consequences. These children need to be institutionalized and actively and intensely rehabilitated, lest they become an even bigger threat once they become adults.

This is really making me question my blanket “never try teens as adults” stance. Goddamn.
