But your criticism was that Uzo wasn’t in a swimsuit like the rest? I cannot keep up with these moving goal posts!

What choice do you mean? Genuinely confused as to what she’s done wrong here. Do you critique all female celebrities posts in this way?

As zigs has pointed out below, that isn’t true!

??? Please stretch before you reach like this babes you will hurt yourself x

Absolutely! People should just own that they aren’t keen on her and let that be that. Also, people working as assistants/make up artists might not WANT to be in photos seen by millions of people. They aren’t celebrities and didn’t sign up for that shit.

I know! But when you point that out it switches to “oh but her make up artists aren’t in any of her photos” - the goal posts move constantly! Like just admit if they don’t like her and want to hate on her, don’t criticise her for petty stuff like how she uses instagram to promote her brand particularly if you aren’t

Uzo was literally at that party and in some of the pictures.

I’m not sure why no one acknowledges that Uzo Aduba was there and in the photos.

But she’s also friends with Todrick Hall and Joseph Kahn...so what’s your point? She spent one July 4th with some white people....and? Should she have included some POC just to satisfy the friendship criteria of Jezebel commenters or should she just have hung out with whoever was available and whoever she wanted to

Her mom has/had (hopefully “had”) cancer...maybe she just wanted family this year. Maybe she’s just not into it this year, maybe she’s busy, maybe she wanted low key. There are a billion reasons she might not have had a bash and “learning her lesson” might not be one of them.

Those who were offended by Taylor Swift’s festivities last year should file criminal charges against whoever held your face to a screen and forced you to look at all those pictures.

Bravo. In our feminist rush to avoid slut-shaming Paris Hilton, et. al., we’ve somehow given the impression that grown women falling down drunk and making money by acting rude and petty is somehow a viable and worthy career choice. This girl is a breath of fresh air, however manufactured her persona is, she is a

Because if my kids are going to look to some kind of young woman as one of their examples of the public persona of a successful woman, I’d rather they see TS and her success. She got there by being media savvy, by carefully managing her public face, and by making music that a lot of people seem to like. And she

In your opinion maybe! It looked extremely fun to me. Also this whole “non-POC” thing is grating...would this have been better if she had a token black friend there? I’m aware of the trap I’m stepping into here but I’m white and I have very few POC friends, and those that I do live far away, simply because I live in a

The thing is, social media is a place where people actively choose to know about the lives and happenings of others. Anyone bothered by what people post to social media can simply choose to stop following them. They don’t need to blog about it and complain.

Maybe I’m weird but I’m more disgusted by paparazzi stalking and photographing random old people minding their own, than by the above IG pics on a waterslide.

There’s nothing Americans hate more than successful women looking happy.

Heaven forbid you should post on social media when having fun with your friends!

Yeah, heaven forfend that fun is had PUBLICLY and UNIRONICALLY and also that your boyfriend wears a dorky shirt for fear that the Internet commentariat comes for you.
