Agreed. My last ship (USS Decatur DDG-73) was mixed gender, and we all did quite well. Other than a couple silly "horny teen/20-something" issues that you get EVERYWHERE, it was a well oiled machine as far as the crew goes.

I, too, grew up in suburban/rural Massachusetts in the '80s and early '90s. This looks more upper Great Lakes/Midwest than New England...the Michigan registration of the boat (the actual boat; not the Roadmaster) would make me tend to believe that's the case.
