Yomawari is isometric, as was Sweet Home. The Nameless Game switches back and forth between isometric and first person. They’re all at least cult classics.

I’ve noticed that false-flag accusations always tie back to blamimg minorities. “This was a false flag committed by black people” or “This was a false flag committed by Jews” or some such. The only exception I’ve seen is the Charlie Hebdo attack, which someone argued was a false flag by an anti-Muslim political group.
You can call it property damage, but there’s no way it qualifies as a riot.
I find it interesting to compare Pyre to Pillars of Eternity. Pillars is more existential—“there’s no objective answer to moral questions, but you still have to choose and live with the consequences.” Pyre is more libertarian—“there’s no objective answer to moral questions, but the answers people come up with are all…
But is it better than Wolf Girl With You?
I’d say you can get a pretty happy ending once you give up the idea of fulfilling Hedwyn’s promise. The only member of another team who absolutely needs to go home is Lendel, and you can prevent violence if you don’t ascend and only one member of another team ascends.
“The camera,” Susan Sontag famously wrote, “is sold as a predatory weapon.” Violence, it seems, is inherent to the photograph, born out in the language of the medium itself: “to shoot” or “to capture’ linguistically conjures violence.
Jim Sterling encountered a game-breaking bug about 8 hours in that killed him over and over. I’d say that alone makes this a bad idea.
I remember when Newsweek thought the reason more boys were autistic than girls was that autism was a disorder related to being unusually masculine. That whole article made me feel like there were bugs crawling on my skin.
Every time I see this game’s name, I think GP Studios finally put out a sequel to Wasted Youth.
No comment on the rest, but I don’t see how porn is relevant. If I accept money to do taxes, that doesn’t mean it’s okay to hold me captive and threaten to beat me up unless I do your taxes for you.
“Are they just randomly targeting women that they think look a bit masculine?”
The End Is Nigh doesn’t have a lot of puzzles, though. In many levels, a quick examination can show you exactly the route you should take. The challenge is timing your movements so that you actually move through that route without hitting a spike. When I eventually get lucky and hit the buttons at exactly the right…
I consider this game the perfect example of why twitch platformers should not have Metroidvania-style maps. An Untitled Story can get away with making you repeat areas for collectibles because you get new upgrades that make those areas easier to traverse the second time around. But if you need to go back for something…
I’m going to assume that “suspiciously carrying” means lugging a prop sword to a comic convention. That’s how these things usually go.
25 different people got gunshot wounds, and the average handgun holds 15 to 17 rounds. I assume there weren’t 25 people firing guns, and it’s a bit hard to reload while you’re being shot at. So just how many people were shooting, and how many times do you have to miss to hit that many bystanders?
There’s a difference between having sex with someone who was your student versus having sex with someone who currently is your student. It’s like having sex with someone who was once employed as your secretary versus having sex with someone who is currently your secretary and knows they could be fired if they don’t…
When you put it this way, Wonder Woman in the Injustice universe gets even more painful. She’s given up on the idea that “man’s world” can ever learn to be civilized, and she takes violence and oppression as her own tools, the only methods she expects outsiders to understand and respect. She claims she’s taming an…
So if stuff on the Internet about sex is just performative, then does that mean stuff about how sex on the Internet is performative is just performative? Seriously, I’m not sure what criteria I would use to distinguish this game from whatever it’s supposed to be satirizing.
“Last Guardian director Fumito Ueda says he likes to leave mysterious gaps in his games’ narratives because players will fill them in with their imagination.”
