The issue here is the Ford name plate. If someone wants to respond their old Mustang or vintage truck, using original Ford parts is the only consideration. This makes that possible, even if practicality is lost.

I’ve read a few write ups about this recently. I’m sort of interested. I’m mostly curious about the rigidity and longevity of the hull material. I imagine it’s adequate, but having spent decades paddling whitewater kayaks made of similar plastic (minus the fiberglass component) and seeing how they can deform (called…
I wondered about pulling the railing off for a flats salt water fly fishing machine!
My first boat was a 13ft Boston Whaler Rage jet boat. My experience with that boat indicated that slow speed maneuverability is virtually non-existent with a jet drive. Beaching was, indeed, easy and pain free. Docking was more difficult in that precision was absent. Getting it on the trailer at a busy boat ramp was…
Frankly, for me anyway, anything I’m not going to use for “sporty” driving or rock crawling can be automatic. I’ve had manual trucks and SUVs pulling trailers and there’s no arguing that towing is terrible for manual clutches - especially in hilly terrain.
Wow. My first thought was $13.5k was too high. Then I went to the ad and looked through the pics. It’s still too high, but if it’s as good as it looks, it’s not way off. An up close inspection would show whether the pictures are covering up a 20/20 or a showing a really nice camper.
Wow - that was a fast $200k lost!
No, I meant motor mounts. Although I did go through one set of CV joints, they were original when I got the car. The little rubber bushings were grossly inadequate.
I’ve been in houses like that!
They did chew through motor mounts like candy, though. On a separate, completely unrelated note, they were an absolute dream screaming through the forest on dirt roads. But, again, those two things are completely unrelated…
There are wires hidden in (and corrosion welded to) every body panel in that car. You’d be amazed by how many feet of wire and the sheer number of rusted bullet connectors can be stuffed into a single small car.
But truthfully, sometimes the only easy fix is a complete rewire of the entire car - from the distributor all the way through the rear lights. Not cheap or easy.
My first car was a ‘68 AA. You (or the seller’s photos) missed featuring the car’s coolest feature - the speedometer.
Driver - “Did you guys see that crazy tree fall in front of me?”
I’d offer that some small town speed traps are exactly that. Case in point - the town of Chesnee, SC had a really effective one. Four lanes with a wide median dropped from 55mph to 40 with no sign indicating an approaching speed limit zone. A city cop would be parked in a large parking lot opposite the 40mph sign,…
Yes. Our medical services have become inextricably tangled with for-profit insurance companies that usually try to under-pay for services. Medical providers are forced to raise costs for everything to cover the shortfall. The result has been an ever ballooning cost-for-services spanning decades. Now, making money has…
The Mini pickup was also “too small to be useful”, but they were, indeed, awesome AF.
This ain’t nicecar, boy.
She indeed seems to run the gamut of clinical and environmental reasons to argue for societal removal. The issue is that she will receive no substantive treatment for her mental illness while incarcerated. They’ll medicate her, but that’s about the extent of the “treatment” she’ll receive. Failure to treat, or even…
