Ubuntu has also removed the scroll bars and it is very annoying, disconcerting, and confusing as to why they needed to do this.

Not to be that guy but it seems like aero snap would be a perfect complement to Apple's implementation of full screen. I honestly can't understand how I made due without snap, and even Ubuntu has a snap feature now.
This is the main reason I went with WP7 over Android and iOS. The interface is uniquely suited for mobile use by bucking the icon/desktop metaphor and the whole bubbly faux-3D interface. While the other OSes have more features, and better hardware, the interface is still the most important part of using anything, and…
I think the point of this is that up until now, OSX has had a wonderful default interface that didn't need much if any tweaking by the end user. I know plenty of Mac owners who have basically forgotten (and some who never knew) that the interface can be changed on OSX, so by having a very confusing default interface,…
I think the point of this is that that is not the Apple way of doing things. Windows is very much designed around that concept, but Apple has always been about having as few ways to do things so as to reduce confusion and complexity
I wouldn't let your previous experience with Pioneer impact your buying decision for this product. They are likely made by a completely different group than made your car speakers, and there is a very real possibility that Pioneer just rebranded some generic chinese speakers and put a retro case on them.
Agreed! The Z-2300s are great, but I managed to make them better by adding some 3-way 6" car speakers that I picked up at a Radio Shack that was going out of business for 75% off. The sattelites included with the Z-2300 do not do justice to the sub, and were very tin-y IMO, but I digress, great system despite being…
Also, if they are selling this thing for $50k a pop, then couldn't they spring for a dedicated web host?
In general, a monoblock, as they are called, is used for driving one speaker, and are usually purchased in sets depending on the set-up. Often audiophiles buy gear slowly and many only buy new gear to add to their current setup rather than pure replacement. For example, if you have already purchased a stereo amp that…
I wouldn't use this as a reference bar...
I beg to differ. While they are still a very small segment, there are a few companies that are making audiophile grade equipment for the low end. For example, I just purchased a small stereo tube amp for just over $400, and while its not the best of the best, it does sound wonderful, and can power nearly any decent…
The only difference is between solid-state and tube amps, but thats because they put out a different wave form
So where are the tubes?
I had been taught that the reason the lights (and eventually the roof) are a danger is because they are just being held up by a high strength polymer and nothing else. Basically they drilled a hole in the roof, shoved some glue up there, and put a steel rod up there and said it was good. The part they missed is how to…
Another problem with working in the vacuum of space is difficulty removing excess heat, so if they used newer, hotter chips they would have more waste heat on board as well as using more power as you mentioned
I love my watch dearly, but I have yet to find a keyboard/laptop that doesn't scuff up the clasp, so I usually end up wearing my watch while out and about, but almost always take it off when I sit down at a computer and place it on my desk. Also, I've noticed that wearing a watch is nice in the winter, but summer in…
My concern (in the military particularly) would be the safety of my toes while wearing these. I feel that a normal boot would protect my toes from getting bent the wrong way while running around in the jungle/forest/dirt where a stray rock could bend one toe up, but in a boot the whole foot would take the force.
Notice that Apple, Netflix, and Hulu are primarily content distribution companies which is why they have all figured it out. Its the content production companies that are having trouble wrapping their heads around third party distribution of their media
Sorry to be that guy but WP7 is far more polished than both of those IMO. If I wanted a sea of icons that I have to organize my self then I would've stuck with XP. While WP7 doesn't have a BAZILLION apps (only a quarter BAZILLION) it is just as useful, has officially supported jailbreaking, doesn't need complex power…
With Gorilla Glass it will either remain mildly scratched, or completely broken because of the way in which the material is made. Really its all about if it hit the ground with the right amount of force at the right angle, and how deep any surface scratches were at the time.
