Penny Arcade covered this a year ago.

Say what you will about the design flaws and crap plot lines of Blizzard's game lately, but their cinematic department has always been, and continues to be, top notch.

Man, those Microsoft Points deals really come and go, huh? They're never on sale when I'd like another 1600.

According to what I have gathered...

Regardless of what Bioware promised, the ME3 ending sucks, sucks, sucks. It's terribly written, has enormous plot holes, and it's insulting to the player, more so if the player was really invested in the story, which I'm sure most of them were.

Yeah, the game should have actually ended, I'll agree with you there. If I knew the game wasn't going to end before buying it, I would have at least hesitated on my purchase, that's for sure. If they needed more time to put the ending of the game together, they should have delayed it a month or something to help

I've been saying for a bit now that the only way that Bioware can redeem themselves to me is if:

You know what, though? Honestly? I'm being serious here.

Oh wait, I'm sorry people want an ending that makes sense and isn't insulting to the Mass Effect trilogy and by association, the player that loves it.

It's taking all of my restraint to not go off the deep end and break down into an insult barrage at your ignorant comment.

Or maybe they shouldn't have fucked up the ending so badly in the first place.

Now playing

This guy used the same voice thing as that hilarious guide to master yi of LOL. Man, I watch this video every month or so and it's hilarious every time.

Well done! This is by far the best easy-to-understand example as to why the Mass Effect endings were horrible. This Star Wars comparison is a little far fetched in comparison to Mass Effect 3's ending, but only by a tiny bit.

Two things:

The best comparison I've seen someone make of the ME3 ending is: "Imagine that 'Return of the Jedi' ended similarly to '2001, a Space Odyssey'."

What? Ok, yeah, Mass Effect is certainly fiction, and Bioware can do what they want with it. The ending could have involve a 3-ring circus or Reapers breakdancing on Earth while Shepard lays down some sick rap skills or something completely ridiculous.

...what? Are you talking about Dragon Age or something? I haven't played either of the DA's.

It's getting pretty annoying how all of these game journalists are saying Mass Effect fans are acting dumb in hating ME3's ending so much that it should be changed, thinking that we wanted super happy endings and rainbows and whatever. How much clearer do we have to be?

Yeah you're both right, it wasn't any NG+, it was more of a game continuation after the last boss with some awesome weapons.

I had a friend that had that same problem for a while. You have to get into your internet settings, most easily done through Internet Explorer, and do something, I can figure it out if you gimme a second...
