"Clearing" in Scientology means something different. A "Clear" is someone who's been through a certain amount of Scientology processing. Scn has a stated goal of "clearing the planet."

Love, love, love Nina Hartley. She's such a great interview, too — not just "for porn," but in general. She's so smart and funny and interesting; I will always stop to pay attention to what she says.

That's true, and it's a shame. I saw a video a while back called "Mitch and Nina Explain It All" or something like that. It was the two of them talking to the camera giving advice to women about working in porn. It was so sensible and good-humored; I was super-impressed (and charmed).

Don't forget Nina Hartley! She was out more or less on her own for years as a smart, openly feminist performer in mainstream porn.

OH BROTHER. His gloating is even worse if you think he means it, because that means he doesn't understand that the only people who vote in an essentially uncontested primary are the "highly motivated," aka cranks. If he thinks this represents even a little bit of an indication as to where most Democrats stand, or how

I meant proof that someone said these things and that some people believe it may be RDJ. That's an incontrovertible fact.

I have a feeling that this was probably the best angle to cover the incident without getting sued. Even if what Himmmm said was 100% libel, they're reporting that he said it, which is absolutely true.

I wonder if that's what she said when she was pitching her reality show.

You should have seen what he got up to at the milk and lemonade shops around the corner from there.

My favorite hate-read recently was the Wall for this Facebook group: [www.facebook.com] — where people who evidently went to sleep in 1977 and woke up in 2009 mourn (publicly, mind you) for Quaaludes, a drug that hasn't been available in more than 25 years. There are only about three pages of comments, but each one

Thank you. That provision even contains the language, "Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect existing law or authorities relating to the detention of United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States, or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States." I think the bros were hoping to Pokeahotmess. As it were.

It's definitely Scientology. "Affinity" and "exchange" are both big-time Scientology buzzwords, with their own Scientology definitions. I'm not going to try to explain them because it's both complicated and mind-hurtingly stupid, but here are some links:

Why is the second ride in a lumbermill?

I tend to agree with you about how awful this is. But are you really unaware of the stunning advances that have been made in HIV/AIDS treatment in the last couple of decades? Life expectancy has gone from a couple of years, tops, to decades. Denying that — and the probable role of animal testing on the development of

Now we know where Elizabeth Taylor went when she died.

I heard it stated pretty firmly that he was offered the chance to surrender and refused, hence the firefight. Granted, I heard it on Fox News. And even if true, the offer was probably a halfhearted one at best. But it'll be interesting to hear over the next few days exactly how it played out.

This is Gawker. We are a diverse group, but if there is any one thing we all believe in to our very cores, it is that the bender is worth the hangover.

By dying from cognitive dissonance.
