exactly. if they had beaten their child to death people wouldn’t say things like that. But because it’s willful neglect it’s somehow okay to let them just live with what they have done as if that is enough. It’s not. I hate they got off so lightly.

Absolutely not. There are far too many people that continue to negligently murder their children by using prayer, alternative medicine, energy crystals, or some other euphemism for bullshit. You wouldn’t feel any sympathy for parents that let their kid starve to death; it’s all criminal neglect.

If they had done the same to say, an elderly relative or a disabled 20 year old would the sentence have been more strict? This shows me that kids are still not considered autonomous individuals with human rights, they are their parents most prized accessory. These people treated their child worse than decent people

Firstly- Fuck these people. I dont care how much anguish or whatever they have already suffered, that sentance is waaaay too light. When people ask what the harm is in promoting a little light quackery? This. This is the fucking harm. Think its just “complimentary” and should be used in conjunction with real medicine?

The pain over losing a child should not have a mitigating effect on the parent’s punishment for causing the death of a child. Parents don’t own their children.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE

ironically enough, my sis is known as the cold, hard bitch of the family

Absolutely—and those cold, hard bitches (your ma and my sister) will watch your fucking back until you die, but they’ll also call you on any bullshit and hold you accountable for everything. Everyone needs a nurse in their life.

Several anti-vax organizations have been pooling their collective intellectual powers

An abortion is an abortion. Full stop. “What kind” she had absolutely doesn’t matter—the implication that it does means that some women’s abortions are more OK than others’. Is that what you mean?

What you meant is that this particular woman choosing to have this particular abortion is not worthy of judgment, and that you reserve the right to judge other women for having other abortions, so I think “fuck off you fucking fuck” might have been more appropriate.

You are basically asking her to title this “I was legitmately raped.” You want the headline to assure the reader that this was an acceptable abortion, not one of those bad abortions by bad people. Your judgement is one of the problems we are having around abortion.

Did anything about the article seem remotely judgmental? You’re putting your own interpretation in a factual headline.

Except the title is succinct. You may think there is no judgment on your part, but there is because you feel the need to defend her further in the title. It’s kind of irrelevant what her reasons are. She deserves your respect because she’s a woman who made a choice about her body. The end.

Now, that is good guy with a gun. Someone who can recognize the limitations in the situation.

Holy goddamn shit, I saw the same thing in my feed (minus the copy/paste bit at the end) and it made me nauseous. I can’t decide if it’s better or worse that the guy in my feed didn’t sit down and think this all up himself because honestly, it’s a sickening sentiment.

I met with a trainer once who said... “I don’t know, do you really care about these 10 lbs? Why not enjoy your life?” I gave her all my money.

Where did you get the idea any non-whites were to be tolerated? “Suffered to exist so long as they serve an economic purpose,” sure, but this “tolerated” bullshit makes me think you might be some kinda dangerous PC radical type.

We hear a lot about “personal responsibility” when it comes to rape victims as well. Somehow, rapists never have a responsibility not to rape, but rape victims are always entirely responsible for avoiding getting themselves raped. And drunk rapists aren’t responsible for their actions because of the alcohol, but drunk

Get back in your test tube, freak.
