The vast majority of us don’t think its fair to get into a University because daddy made a donation. Don’t take the above opinions as representative.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

I think this needs some huge clarification.

That’s cool, you have your opinion, but it’s deliberately calling out the thing that has put them to where they are, the thing that they are choosing on their own as a career path.

And you never complain about your job?  Get the fuck out of here.

I dislike the use of the quote “they’re all the goddamn same”. Yeah, they are more or less. Conventions are a business. You’re doing your cosplay as a business. If the conventions are were you have to go to flex your business and make money, boo hoo that they’re all the same - you’re doing this as a business.

To me the most brutal part of her bullshit is when she says “we get no credit for trying to move forward” ~ is “we” all of America? I’m guessing that she means “us white people”? By “move forward” does she mean “forget about slavery and its consequences?”

I like how she made it real passive when it comes to thanking: “They never give America credit” but real personal when it comes to blaming: “start blaming people who had nothing to do with slavery for the sin of slavery.” Bitch you can’t ask for credit for ending slavery in 1865 but not take blame for perpetuating

No, sorry I didn’t prove your point.
You just accidentally proved that you don’t know how averages work.

This article is pretty clearly for people who go out of their way to make other people’s lives a tiny bit easier.

See, I don’t understand any of this at all. I book a hotel room so I have somewhere to sleep when I’m not doing what I’m in town to do. The job of housekeeping is to refresh the room after I’ve used it. I’m not gonna trash the room, but why should I do their job for them? If I want privacy, I need to feel bad about

I can guarantee you there’s loads of examples of people that lived how they wanted, eating whatever they wanted, and dying early. There’s probably also loads of examples of people trying to be healthy who end up living long lives. And there’s probably examples of loads of people trying to be healthy but dying early

They probably figured you should be the one parenting your kid.

Always love new cocktails, but if you want to work your way through your bottle of cachaça a bit faster, just substitute it for rum in any cocktail and call it a “Brazilian ______”.  So, you’ll have Brazilian Daiquiris, and a Brazilian Dark ‘n Stormy, and Brazil Libres and, well, you get the picture.

“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

Dear lord, this is a stupid comment.

Yes, compassion and humanism. So hard. You are a fucking idiot.

Same. Some of the folks responding here like this is absurd advice just don’t get how awful tickling is to those who don’t like it. I can’t help it, but tickling is physically painful for me. My entire body seizes up and I can’t breathe. And when I was a kid, my dad would tickle me “all in good fun.” I would be crying

Ask them again when they’re in their 20s and see what answer you get.  Maybe you’re right and they loved it and everything is fine.  But my uncle got an earful from me and my sister and two cousins when he tried to reminisce about how much we all loved to be tickled when we were kids, and there are several other

My father was a violent tickler - he would tickle until the child was largely incapacitated (frequently peeing themselves) and in pain. On some level, he must have thought the tears were tears of laughter. (I learned early to hold in any reaction, so I wasn’t “fun” to tickle.)
