"for their looks and second for their sexual availability" now as much as I like Jezebel for most things, it's really news to me that this site is exactly critical of that...

I usually HATE jokes when I perceive them as sexist, but here I feel actually they are really making fun of HIM, not of the women, dont you guys think so?

why do you assume I'm white? I have both experienced racism and sexism. It seems to me that sexism is much more ingrained into people, since even if there are no foreigners around to have built up any kind of racism, the first hierarchy we experience in our lives is that between men and women. Historically speaking it

Hm, it seems to me that racism is much more recoginized that sexism (if that is your point). Like no one of my left winged/"intellectual" colleagues would make racist jokes, but sexist jokes are ok since supposedly that's just the way guys talk about women. Dont you think so?

It's so stoopid. Imagine someone proposing to ban "anti-racist"......

here in Switzerland one can go hiking with Alpacas.

"we dont want them". racist much?

I actually do speak french, yes :)

Trolling much? What do you mean I made the assumption that there are no feminists in Switzerland..? And what do you mean with "haughty"? I said the opposite! I said that I find the generalization that swiss people are not progressive wrong, since I grew up in Bern and was in very progressive circles. Also I'm swiss...

Haughty? I didnt say anything haughty I defended Switzerland - btw I speak swiss german as I'm swiss, but maybe you are confusing posts now, aren't you?

wow I never thought of such a use of Courchsurfing, probably since I am still in the country I grew up, so I guess I had the feeling it would be odd to ask out locals since I am not really from abroad and the town I grew up is just 1 hour away. But actually its a fanstastic idea! Thank you

Hihi :) Montreal for a Machine Learning conference..

No way someone said that to your mom. I grew up in a super equalitarian family where my dad started playing chess with me when I was 4, I am still surprised as hell when I hear that people actually do think such things. Like for real. I think the advice with the coffee room is awesome. Also, I will read up about the

Cool, I have a conference in Berlin soon and I loove the city! I actually do use Couchsurfing, though have hosted only people from abroad. Do you mean the meetings?

wow, had nooo idea there was a fight for suffrage for the native canadians...sad

I was actually looking for such a thing, but I found only the gender study group, I wrote to them, no answer yet, I also think its only for students of gender study (I think Jezebel degrees dont count), I think there is actually some equality group, I found their last positions quite weird (the responsible for gender

Haha, well thanks, I hope so. We actually have a coffee room, I visit rather rarely, since I feel it's often small talk between said people..but I'll start to visit it more often, I think that's a good exercise in socializing anyway. So thanks, I think that could be some good training at least..:)
