100 days in a 180 day school year. This isn’t having a bit of trouble getting them to school on a couple of occasions. This is a kid that functionally isn’t going to school. Depending on how young they are, this is a massive disadvantage for these kids.

Did you also let your kids miss over 100 days at school? I would be not.

So what’s the answer? I don’t think the answer is letting kids not attend school. Children need to go to school and part of a parent’s responsibility is that the children get to school on time.

It’s absolutely a struggle. In California (Los Angeles at least) you wouldn’t be prosecuted if the school doesn’t accept children for early drop off. You also wouldn’t be prosecuted if there is pre- and after- school programs that you can’t afford.
