That’s called “Jury Nullification” and is where a jury gives a non-guily verdict for a guilty person because they don’t agree with the law, the penalty, or the situation.

This is a situation where people need to be brought up to speed on Jury Nullification.

Totally agree. I feel like Singer changed the ending to discredit victims on the big screen. I guess he was just preparing early in case Renfro came forward later.

I got the same horrible feeling. Valdovinos was just a drop in his ocean of victims. I’m sure cats don’t remember all their mice either.

Exactly—- people knew of Renfro was being sexually harassed and thrown in by Singer, and nobody cared. Renfro would have been huge right now if people were in his corner.

You know who I’m guessing Singer does not have blackmailable dirt on? The police. Maybe they could look into this.

Whatever the case, I think Fox definitely knew. It’s probably why they even put conditions in his contract that would make him easy to fire if he got out of line.

I know there’s been rumors that Singer has blackmail material on some extremely powerful people, and they are protecting him from prosecution. But holy shit, I feel like there have been dozens of accusations and lawsuits, and I don’t think there’s even been an actual investigation.

...Not that he denied the accusations, or that he denied the behavior. Just that he doesn’t know this person. 

By the way, that film ends with Brad Renfro’s character blackmailing a man into silence by threatening to tell people he is gay and a pedophile. In the book, Renfro’s character shoots the guy instead.

And we all wonder what happened to Brad Renfro. Who was the underage star of Apt Pupil.
