You could do what my friend’s mother did: warn everyone that the garage/basement/family room/whole damn house etc. needs a good going through. Give everyone two weeks to sort through the stuff they have and decide what to keep or what goes to charity/dump. If they don’t decide for themselves, you will decide for them.

They are great when trying to give a bath to two 6 month old puppies who think that soap and water are the devil’s work. I’d rather soak my ugly Crocs in doggy shampoo than my running shoes.

They have over $70k now - mostly from “Anonymous” donors. Why not just sign your name and let everyone know that you’re a bigoted moron? Surely Jesus is looking out for them and will provide.

This is exactly my own view on it. I've never had that "always known I wanted children" feeling/thought process, though many of my friends did - and now they have kids and they are really happy. I'm happy for them because they have the life they want, and I'm happy for me because I have the one I want.

***hugs to you*** (for what that's worth from an Internet stranger!). I can't speak to the recovery from the surgery you've had because I am not a doctor, but I hope your doctor can help alleviate some of your fear and worry by answering your questions.

You could offer to do any tidying up/laundry/groceries for your Mum that she can't get out to do after her surgery. I know that's what I'd appreciate while I convalesce.

This answers the question I was going to ask about the guys I see here in Vancouver in tight skinny jeans who sit with their legs crossed (the way you see women cross their legs - not the "ankle on the knee" thing).

She was pretty cool to work with when she was there; she didn't take shit from anyone - ever. It was great to watch her handle the drunken assholes who'd come in five minutes to close and demand food. :D

That is a much more legal solution than my fantasy of breaking into his house and setting his speakers on fire, scratching all his CDs, and trashing his stereo with a baseball bat.

I asked her that too, and she said it was "more legit" because hustling pool wasn't always a great idea depending on whose money you'd just taken. I didn't quite buy that though since she was there once a week.

I used to work at a pizza place in high school and one of the girls I worked with would call in an hour before her shift once a week with some excuse as to why she couldn't possibly make it in. I was there for nearly three years and in that time she had about 7 dead grandmothers, 5 or 6 car accidents, horrible…

True, and I always wear underwear if trying on bathing suits because I understand that wearing it next to my bare skin and then putting it back on the rack is kinda gross - but I'm guessing that plenty of people try on suits with nothing on, and without the dubious benefit of those little hygiene strips most stores…

That's depressing, but likely true.

I shouldn't be surprised that people that might do that, I suppose. My mother worked at a craft store where a man successfully returned a piece of BBQ grill to them for cash even though the store only sells crafting supplies and not BBQs or anything else even remotely BBQ related.

I worked in retail as well - also not in clothing and even there, you're right, people are nasty (in every sense of the word).

That's pretty crappy, but you're probably right.

But if the intact good has been marked as "damaged" because it was possibly worn and returned - then what's the worry there?
