@Parker: I was thinking the same thing. I have 2 MX1000's that are about 4 and 2 years old respectively. The battery still lasts 1-2 weeks on both of them with the 2 year old one getting 6-8 hrs/day of use. They did have a battery life over a month when they were new.

It would be better if it were broke into columns like a newspaper (I'm pretty sure they've done studies to determine the optimal width of their columns for ease of reading)
tab mix plus, wootwatcher, and dragdropupload all broke for me with this update...

They've done this for a while, it just wasn't as easy to get to.
I easily prefer google desktop search over the current microsoft search, but I'll give this a try anyway.
@Keter: brightness is actually the black level. Contrast is the white level what you want to lower to darken your screen.
