I can’t speak to the movie because I haven’t seen it, but I did read the book and that was not my takeaway. For me, the novel was about respecting someone enough and loving someone enough to allow them to make their own choices despite your own personal feelings.

I had my first baby at 32 and my second baby at 34. My second pregnancy, a mere two years later, was way harder on my body than the first. I’m now pushing 36 and chasing around a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old all day is absolutely exhausting. I cannot imagine just starting this process after 40.
