The problem with moving to a shittier town is that the school system in said shittier town is also shitty. We bought a modest, 1940's 3 bedroom cape that was never updated in a town with a good school system. This was 6 years ago and we paid $355,000. We pay $13,000 a year in property tax. If the property taxes in NJ

That’s my read on this as well. At first, I thought it was just normal kid stuff. My kids are nude all the time but they are 3 and 5. A 13 year old shouldn’t be whispering that she isn’t wearing underwear or be so insistent to be naked around others. It would send up a HUGE red flag for me.

I read this too. It was excellent.

I was a college freshman when Columbine occurred and I vividly remember my dad being simultaneously livid and heartbroken that the cops didn’t storm into that school to end it. I remember him saying, “Thinking there are booby traps or bombs that will kill or hurt those officers is not an excuse to have them hang back.

As a fellow Jersey girl, I hear ya. Ideally, if I go down the shore it is to someone’s house that’s on the beach so I can sit on the deck under an umbrella, read a book, and have access to a real bathroom.... Now I just need to find that someone and make friends with them.

We would get along just fine. I love looking at the ocean, but only while wearing a sweatshirt and sitting in an Adirondack chair on a deck.

Yup. I remember when American Idol first aired and everyone raved about it. I thought it cruel and I don’t understand how people can laugh at someone else’s crushed dream, however unrealistic that dream is.

If she truly wants one and takes good care of it, yes. I’m dating myself, but I still have my first edition Kirsten, Samantha, and Molly. Those dolls were dearly loved, played with daily, and nearly 30 years old at this point. I just opened up the boxes to see what kind of condition they’re in because my daughter has

YES! I got SO FRIGGIN excited thinking I was about to hear him do his thing, but no.

Same. I spent my twenties selfishly. I did whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I had an entire decade (the best one IMO) just for me and I’m so glad I did. The kids came along when I was 32 and 34 and if there’s one thing you absolutely cannot be as a parent, it’s selfish. The little buggers dictated when I could

There are numerous reports that Chaffetz is about to issue a subpoena for the memo in question.

JFC, that’s terrible. I’m so sorry.

My first reaction is “KEEP IT IN YOUR FUCKING PANTS ASSHOLE AND SUPPORT YOUR SUFFERING WIFE, YOU SELFISH PRICK”

Exactly. If I have to personally pay more to ensure another human being, and a fellow American at that, is given the care they desperately need, I will do so gladly.

Exactly. The right have so expertly characterized those on the left as “un-American”, “special snowflakes”, “lazy”, etc. etc. that these people would sooner chew their own arm off than be considered one of us.

1000 times better than Let it Go.

As an upper-middle class mom who sits around getting stoned on Thursday night after the kids go to bed, I approve this comment.

Yes. She did.

YES. In 2008, the company I worked for wasn’t doing well so the owner decided to take everyone’s salary down by 20%. That amount to him meant he had to cut cable. That amount to me meant I had to give up my apartment. But since we all lost 20% of our salary it was “fair”.
