Yeaaah, from what I’ve seen so far, not a ton of that is translating. Hopeful that the movie itself will do more with it. (Hopeful, but not sanguine.)

I want to be as excited about this as I was about Thor Ragnarok with it similar Gonzo 80s visual motifs, and for it to be as ultimately satisfying and well-crafted. But, you know, not counting on it. I also want to like Gal Gadot, but her only three facial expressions — sweetly smiling, sweetly blank, and unconvincing…

It takes everybody a minute, which is what makes it so fun to use. :)

It took me a second because I’m so accustomed to Old (or at least Middle-Aged) James Cromwell, but yeah, this is a STRONG resemblance.

Magic Erasers are almost always the answer. They’ll even take a lot of “stains” off of my white solid-surface countertops all by themselves. Bonus : used dry, they’re great for getting water spots and smudges off of bathroom mirrors, no Windex-type-stuff required.

It’s also useful if you occasionally use white cloth napkins that get assorted food/grease stains on them! Just dissolve a few shakes of it in hot water in the kitchen sink, throw in the napkins, let them soak a while. I find this is often a better option that playing roulette with (or ugh, having to look up again…

Barkeeper’s Friend is also great for cleaning that burnt-on crud off of solid-surface glass cooktops! If you’re unfortunate enough to have one. (I was unfortunate i.e. stupid enough to buy a JennAir instead of going to the trouble of getting gas hookups. I still regret this eight years later.)

No lie, steam mops are AMAZING and everyone who has partial or total hard floors should have one. No disposable-waste Swiffer bullshit, no stanky fakey chemical fragrances, effective as hell.
