I don’t know about Charleston. I’ve visited there many times and everybody was exceedingly nice to me(I’m black). I even hit on a girl(white), her boyfriend walked up and said that’s my girlfriend, I apologized and he brought me a drink. I understand there’s plenty of racism in SC but I have literally never had less…

Most “origin stories” are total bullshit. Except for a handful of heroes, we don’t need to know everybody’s origins. Those kinds of narratives almost always detract from the characters’ mystique and personality.
