Nice! The Joan and Sherlock partnership is a rare and wonderful thing. I'm okay with fanfic of it, but I don't want it to happen in the show.

Welcome to the fandom! Glad you're enjoying the series. Yeah, the Sherlock fans think that Elementary is a copy of Sherlock, rather than it's own adaptation of the original stories. There's also some people who have difficulty with the connections to the original stories, because they're not super obvious like they…
Holy cats, I didn't realize this thread was from season 2!
To be fair: I am not in favor of ANY of the ships you mention.
Well. This review was really bad. Normally, Genevieve is quicker to catch onto Canon Easter eggs, but this time, she completely ignored it in favor of bashing Sherlock.
Really good catch - I thought the name sounded familiar, but couldn't quite place it.
Fair enough. But I was referring to the change in assumptions for Elementary, which for the first three seasons was tough but overall quite positive.
Not really, just for this show for the past two seasons.
Nice!
Not to mention a complete lack of the two glaring canon references, the Black Peter skewering, and the beating of Sherlock a la Illustrious Client, the source for Shinwell's character. Fitting, since Kitty's plot with Gruner didn't have the beating element included.
Well, the composer is the same one for Casino Royale, and composers do generally sound like themselves. :)
The Six Napoleons, from the collection "The Return of Sherlock Holmes." Holmes isn't the first detective, but he is the basis for almost every single one for the past 100 years. :)
You know that the busts plot is from the original Sherlock Holmes story, right? Obviously not the thumb drive, but everything involved with the busts up to the reveal of what was in it….
The one with the busts?
Which of the three mysteries was stolen?
Makes sense. Someone with more fashion sense should go through Joan's outfits from s1, where she's more on the edge, till now, and see if the costumer made deliberate choices along that trajectory.
I would take a connection to Del Gruner from s3, too, as they are both from the same story. Plus Kitty! !!!!!!!!!!
And Holmes himself wouldn't wear it unless it were in the country. :)
Seems very unlikely to me. No connection in the original story. Doesn't mean necessarily, but doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
I miss Myles as well. I love Joan, but I think that the specific priorities that Genevieve and the faction she represents (which is a valid faction, just one I happen to disagree with) expresses would tear Joan's character from who Watson is as an adaptation - and I'm still, 5 years later, loving Elementary as an…
