It’s not cowardly, that’s the difference. Rubio did not do the smart thing. The smart thing would have been to not show up. It’s the smart thing because we wouldn’t be talking about him today if he hadn’t shown up. Rubio did his job and there is integrity in that. You may disagree with his politics, but he did his job.

That’s good advice for activist and emotional speaking. For professional speaking, I always suggest to my team:

Just to be clear, each of those instances you cited at the beginning of the article came because those passengers broke the rules. David Dao wasn’t dragged off the airplane because they overbooked. He was dragged off because he went against flight crew instructions, AND local law enforcement instructions. Regardless…

All the Captain would have done is immediately remove any disruptive passengers. That includes the man who stood up and threatened to hit one of his flight crew, as well as the lady not willing to follow flight crew instructions.
