That makes a lot of sense. I don’t think I’d remember to take off my driving glasses when I got to my destination, though, and throw on my beater pair

Hah I know that feeling. I’ll try the firehoses for work, then, if I can find a style without cargo pockets - thanks

Man that’s crazy to me. I used to wear the redwing metatarsals, but I switched to keen metatarsals just to try them out this year because I like my keen hikers. The redwings’ soles seem to wear down in 2 years, I didn’t think I drag my boots when I walk but I don’t know how you’re getting 6 years so I must be.

Hard disagree on sunglasses. Polarized sunglasses can be had for $20 and you don’t have to cry whenever they fall in the water, get sat on, or get left behind in a rental car. I’m constantly wearing sunglasses when I wear contacts, and keeping a pair in my truck, in my motorcycle’s saddlebags, in my girlfriend’s car,

the authentic stubble is an expensive option, but it really separates the wheat from the chafe

how do the crotch/inner thigh areas hold up on the firehose pants? I’ve heard mixed reviews on them

I get the point of the Sam Vimes story, but I’m skeptical about any boots really lasting 10 years. We get new boots every year where I work, and that’s probably a bit more frequent than absolutely necessary for me, but I’d definitely need a new sole at least after two years, and there’s a good chance the toe cap is

Heresy!

I like David Tracy, but he’s wont to buy used tires and that’s pretty hard to abide

Is that a jack for side of the road wheel change?? It looks like a trailer jack but that picture of a car...

some headlight restoration kits work in almost exactly the same way. lots of sanding first, then a solvent to get rid of the exposed surface layer of plastic. Of course, the next step in the kit is to cover it with a coating, whether it’s some kind of clear coat or ceramic coating. I’m not sure tiktok failed you in

Surely they’d to try and cash in on IT vibes and name it Halloween 12: The Hallowtweening

there is an ‘09 xr1200 with 24.5k miles for $6,850 here in central IL, tho. just in case someone is looking

about 168k or so. so not young, but not exactly like I’m trying to squeeze life out of a dinosaur

two quick things to add: to prevent blotching, a lot of woodworkers recommend laying down wood conditioner prior to staining, and if you’ve sanded the wood or if it’s fresh wood, wiping the wood with a wet rag and then sanding again will help keep loose fibers from rising when the stain is laid down.

aight, but the base transmission for the 5.3 has definitely stranded me twice

I’ve had nothing but trouble with mine. IWEs needing replaced, vent cap getting replaced, transmission needing flushed and filter replaced, and now I’m having electrical/comm issues with BLIS, cross-traffic alert, front windows, mirrors, airbag alert, and HVAC controls going crazy. Waited 2.5 weeks for a new FCIM to

god I’m glad I don’t have to wade through piles of loose cash everyday. I bet it’s just exhausting for people who have that kind of lifetsyle

How far can you go on it at 70mph before it stops being fun? Does it feel undergeared for spending 2 hours on the interstate at a time? Are there already different exhausts ready to swap out that go low rather than high? Can you get any shots with two-person seats? Are those tires as annoyingly big as they look and

hmmm fair enough. it’s kind of hard to figure out how the newer EVs are managing their awd, compared to older ICE cars like subies. I think most drivers are okay with brakes simulating LSDs on front wheels, because I think the newer tacomas will do that, and it’s how most descent control systems work, but I feel like
