Makes sense as to why they should do regional hubs, but it feels like a dangerous thing for the dealers to let GM do, what with all the direct-to-consumer car sales going on. As for the scarcity itself, though, that sounds more like a part shortage issue.

Getting the second shot on the 9th, going to Moab for the first time on the 21st. Pretty frickin pumped

I mean, if GM really can’t get Bolts out to as many dealers as it needs to, I guess this sounds like a fine plan. But why the scarcity?”

The edict “have an opinion,” doesn’t mean “have a shitty attitude.”

das what I’m talmbout

And when you buy/sell a car, the state will inspect the odometer, just like they do today.”

what. they do that because there’s an inspection that has to happen for registration. registering by mail isn’t any fancier - it’s just possible because you don’t have to go through inspections. registering by mail and having an inspection would be worse than registering in person, at the inspection.

...the batteries will cost $20k. Don’t use 1990 car prices to estimate what 2025 vehicles should cost or you’re gonna have a bad time.

the canoo is probably 2-2.5x times more expensive than this is anticipated to be

Two trucks on standby, fire completely contained by facility staff, only caught attention because some smoke escaped?

Uh, then there’s the 25 year olds constantly making and sharing memes about overwhelming anxiety? The most confident people I have to deal with are in their 50's, and they don’t take correction well.

That’s low response, but it’s still a response for a low effort ploy. How long can it actually take to put those slideshows together? The most work is probably just finding accurate images to match the comments. It’s low hanging fruit, but still some fruit

Yes, I did go on a road trip and got hassled multiple times, beyond normal strangers getting teased by locals.

You don’t seem to be willing to comprehend what I’m trying to say.

“getting out” is how I know that people are aggressively anti-mask, ya hack

I live in central-to-southern Illinois and I just get teased when I go into the rural, out-of-town stores for wearing a blank, cloth mask. When I drove out of state, and especially out toward the carolinas, is where we got ‘talked to.

Midwest red can be different than southern red, I guess

Erik wasn’t very explicit, but I imagine part of the concern is that in very-red regions, you will get hassled for wearing a mask in public. If you unknowingly stop in a certain part of town in certain red regions and you’re alone, it’s reasonable to be concerned for your safety if you don’t get out and leave before

I feel like listening to Welcome to Night Vale while driving through Nebraska would be a terrible, terrible idea, but your sentence definitely read out like a line straight from the podcast

Pretty cool idea, especially because even if a consumer doesn’t want to battery swap, they can still buy a battery when theirs dies and they won’t be paying crazy money for a brand or even model-specific battery.
