funny, but it sure looks like the driver is well protected in a traditional cab. Now, being a backseat passenger... maybe adding some handgrabs on the back of the front seats would be a good idea.

Not a very fair comparison, considering you can still buy the two-door wrangler and it’s much, much cheaper than the four-door.
It’s beautiful. If I made socal money and could drive it in socal weather, I would. As is, that thing is an expensive lawn ornament. Don’t let anyone take that thing any farther north, and definitely don’t let anyone pay 4500 for it.
Monical’s facebook posted that they delivered like 100 pizzas to the factory in Normal recently. That’s, uh, the random insider information I have. But a truly irrefutable indicator that things are happening. (kay, your link is good, too)
the dollars to value of that thing just doesn’t make it appealing to me. it’s awesome as hell, but I’m not spending 6 figures on that when 60k gets something more driveable - the utilitarianism isn’t worth that difference in cost.
the electric f150 and silverados aren’t that far away. heck, even an electric hummer is being floated around? once one electric pickup drops, it’s going to be a mad dash to get them on lots to prevent tesla from scooping up the whole market of early adopting truck drivers.
they’re mostly still in the 6k range from what I can tell, which is amazing when the guy is considering trading it in.
weird - feels like this problem was already solved at minimal cost
well dang, that would 6mpg would help a lot, since the ‘09 is currently running a 48 mile commute every day - that’s a whole day’s worth of gas extra for every tank
It certainly does paint the writer as belonging to a cringy stereotype. More desire for shiny than desire to make sound financial decisions. Or even make fun decisions with some financial consideration.
We don’t have a costco in my city, but I’ve considered sam’s club from the first bag of food for our second dog.
I suppose I don’t really have much firsthand experience with nyquil, I didn’t know that it went bad that quickly
It’s hard for me to imagine being upset by having too many rolls of paper towels. Or toilet paper, unless it’s less than stellar quality stuff. Anything perishable, though, especially stuff that takes up valuable freezer space, is a problem.
I hate fast food deals for this same reason. I don’t want 3 burgers for $5 - I can’t exactly save them for later. At least with nyquil, there’s a chance you’ll put the extra bottle somewhere to use in 2024 when the first runs out.
I wasn’t aware of the full powertrain change - that makes a lot more sense, since it’d show up in the mpg ratings. I didn’t think that the ‘09 was getting bad mileage anyway - ours gets like 34 with mostly highway, and I consider that pretty good for a 11-year-old ICE.
the most recent one was shredded sidewall on the inside of the front passenger tire. I don’t recall which of the other tires usually go since I’m not the one who dailies it, but it’s definitely burning through them way too quickly for a highway commuter with no spirited driving. I haven’t played with any of the…
he could get around a high monthly payment by refinancing the loan, though
amazing that a speedometer with mph in big numbers instead of little numbers is enough to put off people. feels like something jdm fans would pay extra for
Yeah it would only really work out if he bought a car that retains its value well and is buying at a very low rate (or outright - most mazda people are frugal people)
I’m not sure how I follow that changes things. that’s still $27k payoff (ish, who knows what he meant by $27k left), vs $28k in value for a used beamer. switching vehicles now mostly likely means he’ll have a higher payment than if he kept the kia. his sunken costs don’t much matter now that he’s years into the deal.…
