I look forward to the rest of us not doing that until they do a better job of addressing their systemic racism problem.

2% a year is generally considered to be an inflation raise, and has very little to do with what anyone actually deserves.
I work for a VA hospital and they’re already having a hell of a time hiring and keeping people. We had to close down a patient ward earlier this year because they didn’t have enough nurses. They’re always looking for MSAs. My department is constantly hiring and short staffed.
I know what you mean but honestly 2.1% is NOT cost of living increase. I know, it’s what my non-profit has offered each year and we are worse that stagnate. Mortgage/rental costs, insurance, food prices, utilities, and all those fun ancillaries just to live are blowing up but I & my staff get a attaboy pat on the back…
Or a locality cost of living increase either.
Trump is no George Washington, that’s for sure. But that’s no reason to insult America’s farmers.
“Look, we decided to do this, we had no idea how to do this, we didn’t budget properly to do this, the logistics are totally fucked, and people are being killed but you think we should stop? America isn’t for quitters!”
It is a no-no if the photo isn’t cleared by the government, since Trump is the government it isn’t a no-no. It is frowned upon, but not illegal, to post anything that could violate PERSEC (personal security), but as long as everyone is a willing participant and knew that they were going to be in the photo that case…
Not really, the services post a ton of uncensored photos of Special Operations members. In fact it is often only the unoffical photos that are censored, or someone needlessly taking an official photo and censoring it after the fact to make it look cooler (I see this a lot).
Well, it sure seems to. They were in charge during the 80's and 90's, when heading off the climate crisis was still a very do-able thing, rather than an all-out Hail Mary pass...
I see a certain nihilistic self-interest I’m boomers that might be the result of growing up knowing that you could be senselessly vaporized at any moment.
Except it’s really our last, isn’t it?
I started school right around the tail end of that period and I remember our “air raid drills” (that’s what they were called). We had a special siren and everything.
