So what does the restored content mod actually add? I've seen a few (maybe a half dozen or so) cutscenes and a bit more mindless combat. The droid factory was a LOT more mindless combat. Malachor is as irritating as ever so far (didn't clear the entire map of beasts? Good luck with the remote!). Is Trayus Academy

I actually tried the 'Restored Content Mod'. I got a few cutscenes and a bit more mindless combat. The Droid Factory added a very few cutscenes and a LOT more mindless combat. Malachor seems to be the same pointless slog so far. So what exactly did this fan mod restore? How has the game been improved by a bit more xp?

So Obsidian chose to break the gameplay based on what some players wanted-apparently they are unable to figure out what would be best for the game, rather than what would satisfy a few players. That doesn't say much for their abilities as developers. Perhaps they can write a story, but they can't handle making the

The gameplay choices were all Obsidian's- the random loot, influence, overpowered crafting. Why I would turn Atton into a Jedi and lose his scoundrel bonuses, or make Mira less effective as a combatant by giving her Force powers her crappy Wisdom won't be able to use effectively, or piss away the Handmaiden's

So Obsidian couldn't adjust to a changed schedule (apparently this is a continuing problem-if ALL their working relationships turn out bad whose fault is it?) and an incoherent mess was the result. Ten years later all is forgiven because a fan mod restores some content that theoretically makes the game less

In other words it's ok to release an unfinished mess because modders will fix it? That does seem to explain Obsidian's releases.

So sorry I have other things in my life besides defending a game that apparently needed a fan mod to approach 'not as incoherent' status.

Oh yes- 'killing the Force is good, but Nihilus eating Force-users is bad, so bad that you must destroy him and all who possibly know his Force-eating kung fu technique, even though I, Kreia, hate the Force and want to kill it. Did I mention that already?' is extremely thought-provoking.

Because that's so much worse than 'Kreia forces her way into my character's mind and provides unasked for commentary on every minor encounter'.

So Kreia's advice is to quit and uninstall? Even she knows the game is garbage.

Why does Malachor V affect the Exile yet Taris doesn't affect Bastila or Revan, Alderaan doesn't affect Obi-Wan, and blowing up the Death Star at effectively point-blank range doesn't affect Luke? Apparently those weren't enough to create a 'wound in the Force'?

I'd agree with that-both are vastly overrated stories.

By that logic shouldn't avellone be on the side of nihilus?

So by not allowing a third choice avellone got to preach his opinions to the player since no matter which option is chosen it is wrong.

So Obsidan wasn't overly ambitious ever, it has always been those mean old publishers, right? If they keep getting screwed maybe they should look at why. Maybe abuse kickstarter some more and stop working with publishers at all.

So if Kreia was so butthurt about the Force why not let Nihilus eat all the Force-generating entities?

Idiocy-like pretending Kreia's philosophy makes any sense at all except as avellone's mouthpiece for his disdain for the setting he chose to 'write' a game for.

It doesn't concern me, just amuses me that it took a decade to reconstruct a fanmod for a game that took a little over a year originally. Again, it wasn't approved by the only people that matter-LucasArts.

Best written compared to what?

So sorry for not seeing the article the day it came out-I'll slink away and never post again. Enjoy your game with the FINALLY completed fan mod..
