To be pedantic, the plate on top looks to be metalphoto. Instead of paint it’s a layer of photosensitive pigment inside the annodizing. It’s pretty badass. No flaking and almost no fading. That plate will last for damn ever and isn't anything remotely cheap

I always use 1/4-3/8 fuel hose to install or remove spark plugs. Can’t get enough torque to hurt anything when you crossthread and it greatly reduces the chances of crossthreading in the first place.
