I’m not a conservative for there is nothing to conserve. What little Trump is doing wrt automobiles is neutral environmental wise in the real world. Automobiles are designed to pass these tests now and in many instances I would wager it is counterproductive.

MT versions have to be separately certified from AT versions. This means paying the costs twice. Which is recovered with only a few more sales, but the targets for it keep getting more difficult to achieve.

When a human shifts a transmission on an ICE vehicle there is a tinny tiny burp of a little more regulated

The reality is that the value of life equation is something the US Federal Government created to determine if something should be mandated or not. If the cost of the mandate exceeded the value of the lives saved there wouldnt be one. If it was less, there would be.

If this conspiracy is true I still do not understand why Goodyear simply did not introduce a new model tire and stop the bleeding. Tire molds are cheaper than lawyers. Introducing new and better models is normal business so it wouldnt prove that the old tire was bad either.

Plane looks old. A whole six years old.  They probably bought a new one.

They are designed to score well on the government CAFE cycle. Then government emissions cycle. Your needs are at best third.

Until government makes serving that market illegal or financially unprofitable. Which is what it is slowly achieving with the MT by making it ever more difficult and costly to offer an MT for sale.

Remember every time you cheer on the government to make CAFE higher and higher and go after ever smaller limits for NOx, VOC, CO, etc you are killing the manual transmission.

Remember just because an MT may have better real world fuel economy that doesn’t mean squat to government standards which are met through a

Bears fan? There’s no blue. There has to be blue for it to be Bears colors.

“almost no other asset has ever outperformed bitcoin in terms of growth of value over time.”

One of these days I’ll learn to bet on the stupidity of others. When I first heard of bitcoin I think it was a nickle a bitcoin. Now my reaction was ‘that’s stupid, it’s not money’ so I did nothing. If I had just bet $20...

“What do you do after you wire it? Do you exchange it for an actual recognized currency?”

A monetary metal such as gold or silver is tangible money. People trade bit coins for currency (your ‘actual money’) which by and large only exists as digits in a computer with only a fraction existing as paper notes. Even in paper form it is the same, a claim of one form or another, it just uses an older technology. I

You don’t know why? The very nature of american stop and go jams is due to the AT. The annoying creep up a few inches. Stop. Creep a few inches. Stop. It’s something that makes no sense in an MT. And if you try to mitigate that with an MT in the USA someone moves into the gap that forms in front of you. Which is

The “problem” with MTs in traffic is entirely caused by an overwhelming number of morons driving cars with ATs. If the vast majority of vehicles are MTs then people drive appropiately.

I got to drive in Germany when the default rental car was an MT as were the vast majority of vehicles on the road. Maybe still is that

“Americans, overwhelmingly, are choosing to have their car shift for them.”

Then that means there’s been a change in two decades, which was the question I asked in the beginning. The part of Winston-Salem I saw was this creepy run-down area with practically nobody on the streets in the evening but a few men giving us ‘what the fuck are you doing here’ looks. The buildings were old and looked

“Yeah, we can have a pissing contest on whose state has the roughest cities.”

Who gives a fuck if it’s the “Research Triangle” or not? Apparently your hung up on it, probably because their isn’t anything else about the place.

I don’t need no fucking text book, I actually went into Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Raleigh. As in physically went to these places. But like I mentioned that was in the mid 1990s.
