Saturn was an admission that GM had serious problems. It did kind of work initially because it broke away from a lot of GM’s problems. As such it had to be changed. It was effectively killed before the bankruptcy because it had been absorbed into the same GM corporate practices of product and more that it was designed

“Such steps included manipulating the incentive plan while keeping Mr. Lakenan and others uninformed about specific details of the plan, and at the same time continuing to make promises about the plan in order to motivate Mr. Lakenan to sell Tesla vehicles,”

And underposted speed limits, political road design, and other teachings of the “speed kills” bible create traffic jams.

Hmm... I read stuff like that and nobody seems to care to thinking I’m weird.

This wasn’t on the interstate. Two lanes, the cops were stopped in the right lane.

That’s pretty standard ‘technique’ for some people.

It’s reacting to what is two cars up. I react to what’s going on a lot further than what is two cars up if I deem it necessary.

“I’m bored.”

And yet you’re responding.

You’re being non-responsive.

Google maps? That offers only monitors those stupid enough to use it from their phones for directions.

No, not really. At best monitors, doesn’t control. It can also be left at home. To do anything with it ‘off’ requires some intervention and personal targeting. It’s not a particularly viable method.

It’s crudely and hamfistedly possible through ANPR systems but the public cannot be convinced to accept the underlying infrastructure requirements. So far the tax-by-mile end run has fallen flat. It’s too obvious and thus meets resistance. As a result the most it has achieved is spotty data gathering.

The end game is complete monitoring and or control of people’s travels.

It’s reacting. Not predicting.

There are a couple cops that are still alive because I drive with bicycling instincts. Stupid porkers parked their cruisers up on the lane line and then flung their doors open and stepped out into traffic without looking.

I have my own mental make and model scoring for deciding what lane to be in but there’s one huge tell out there.... the democrat and republican bumper stickers. That just broadcasts someone who is just plain poor behind the wheel one way or another.

The answer is ‘no’.

It is window dressing if you rationally think about the environment. But remember environmental topics were taken over by people with a political agenda to be used as a vehicle to their desired ends. China already has their desired political structure and thus pollution there or from them is of little concern.

Silver (Ag) straws will go home with people. Silver plated might not, at least after the people realized they were only plated. And of course the idea of anything made of silver is only feasible for a sit down restaurant.
