Yup, mastering how to farm and dominate Lynels was my favorite experience with BOTW.

Yeah I look at the hidden pathways differently and absolutely agree on the combat being the best part. Exploring the world, checking every corner, blasting every box, dashing into the abyss, all of these were so much fun. The reward of finding a hidden passageway was satisfying for me. You probably loved the ned-game

Eh, Bloodborne was my first Souls game and I only played it because it was discounted. I stayed away from it for the similar reasons, assumed it would be too much. But I stuck with it and found my favorite franchise of all time, and I’ve been gaming heavily since before I can remember (I’m 28). It’s not as consuming

I recommended it above, but checking upgrade guides online for the armor sets is great. This is the YouTube channel I used to backtrack, always something I missed. I agree the New Game Plus, only 2 bars of health, was a little too much and that stopped me from going back. Regular new game was the way for me.

The backtracking and extra content is what compelled me to keep playing. Not sure if I ever beat the 100-dash, but my favorite armor sets didn’t require any of the extreme challenges. Since this game was available for PC, I think some of them are made for that. Either way, the best armor sets are definitely not tied

I’d go back to it. There was a moment where I doubted myself and wondered if maybe it was too tough, but there is a combat loop that is incredibly rewarding to master.

I could not recommend this game enough. I didn’t even know that there was co-op until I beat it!!!

I’d say they are very different, but BOTW gives you the tools to dominate. After completing 20% of BOTW, my character was strong enough to beat all dungeon bosses and Ganon without health items.

The small YouTube channel featured here has been my go-to for help finding armor and other things as well. Huge help in finding armor sets, farming materials, and walkthrough as well. The dragon and fairy location videos were super clutch in the late-game.

In Breath of the Wild, I found the designs for Waterblight Ganon and the other “Blank”-Blight Ganon dungeon bosses to be undistinguished from each other and just not as detailed as all other characters in the game. The designs above are ridiculously awesome.

Same thing, once the map opened up after tutorial area I rushed to the Lanaryu mountains area. I defeated the Talus with just the bombs and by cheesing it, since it is much slower than Link especially up a slope.

I found myself walking everywhere early game, since horses don’t climb mountains and getting them to obey isn’t as smooth as I’d like (even at 100 percent bond). I found so many shrines and Korok seeds this way.

I never got attached to any horses since I’m constantly warping to different shrines and towers. If the whistle worked much like Epona’s Song from OOT, I’d be using it often.

I’m glad you didn’t recommend turning on the Pro HUD. Although it makes the game look much better, you miss out on the weather report.

Colin’s enthusiasm and thoughts on the gaming industry led me to watch Kinda Funny regularly, and I was a huge fan even back when he was writing at IGN. I really enjoyed watching his videos or any conversation with him involved.

Sadly you can’t shoot the necklace off of the Hinox. You can absolutely snatch a sword off of the chain when he bends down though. The Stasis Plus upgrade helps out a ton, and a quick arrow to his eye works well if you just wanna grab and dash.

I agree with the overall point about “shine” though, considering Zelda has received more critical acclaim. With PS4 outpacing PS2 sales, it’s not surprising to see that HZD has more buys than Zelda.

My Wii U GamePad broke, so I thank Nintendo for making this game operational without it (aside from 2 shrines I’ve encountered). The Wii U GamePad is 100% necessary in order to access the online settings, so I’m thankful that the Wifi set-up was exactly the same from last time I used the Wii U around 2 years ago (the

^This. All of the this. Good thing I went out of my way to finish Nioh last week.

Speaking for myself here, I would’ve had to buy the Switch for Zelda alone. Dusting off the ole Wii U for Zelda was much easier than spending $300 on Switch and then $70 on the, according to most reviews, absolutely necessary pro controller.
