I cannot think of a single Disney film that I was ‘in love with’. Even as a small child they seemed to be cheesy and pandering and manipulative. Did Mary Poppins have a plot of any sort? All I recall is Dick Van Dyke making grotesque faces at the camera in faux merriment. And pointless animated penguins. The prospect

The atmosphere on this particular film set has become the stuff of legend.

“O, Melania Melania! Oh, mummy! Mummy!”

This clown is a straight up traitor, having been caught red-handed conspiring with an enemy state to destroy democracy in America. So I’m not about to cry any crocodile tears over him.

I don’t know what’s more disturbing, that she looks like a former porn star or she looks just like his step-mom.

The last time I saw Topher Grace he had a part in the 2012 short film “The Beauty Inside”, which in 2015 was remade into a Korean feature film... which in turn is nowbeing remade back into an American feature film... which in turn is being remade into a *Korean TV series* starring Seo Hyn-jin. I’ve seen several of

The degenerate right has been pushing the obscene ‘Hitler was a liberal’ fantasy for years, starting about the same time that Dick Cheney set up torture camps, then as a defensive reflex started calling everybody (but himself) ‘Fascist’.

In 2001 Johnny Depp was on the cusp of transitioning from being a promising young actor to becoming a scenery-chewing freak. The God-awful ‘Pirates’ franchise was only two years away, the grotesque ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Fact0ry’ was four.

So what percentage of superhero fare these days are straight-up PTSD allegories?

The humane thing to do is to just put the poor animal down.

I checked the previous reviews and this was the series’ first ‘D’. Ouch.

Aging male actors have a similar - if less pronounce ‘‘career slump’ as aging female actors have. If the former heart-throb actor hasn’t aged into playing character roles like presidents, starship commanders or corporate executives, their selection of roles is increasingly limited. Two fun Bruce Willis factoids:

If the part was written for a Japanese trans man she would’ve jumped at it.

“Throughout the ’80s and ’90s, the X-Men comics captured the collective imagination of the kids and teenagers who were willing to pay attention to comic books.”

Why is so much British TV represented in an American TV awards show? If you insist on going overseas you ought to nominate the Korean series ‘My Ajusshi’ for best TV drama and Lee Sun-gyun as best male lead.

If we go by ‘Firefly’, ‘Dollhouse’ and ‘Agents of Shield’ the first season of the series will involve so much world-building that people are likely to bail on the series before the primary storyline kicks in.

How could the only original musical on TV be shut out of ‘Best Original Song’ category? What song was in any way superior to Crazy Ex Girlfriend’s ‘The miracle of birth’ or ‘The first penis I saw’ and ‘Maybe she’s not such a heinous bitch after all’ or ‘The end of the movie’? Or any of the other two dozen+ songs

Its Ironic that ‘Robocop’ and ‘Wall Street’ both came out in 1987. Back then you needed to go to the cinema to see a coke-head’s fever dream of an amoral narcissist’s future America. Now you just have to turn on the news.

The Hong Kong location means the US is very much a *secondary market* for this film. Asian cinema is in love with their shiny futuristic-looking cities and, it seems, a little bit frightened of them too. There’s no equivalent in the US because US cities look neither shiny nor futuristic these days.
