Thanks for making me laugh harder than I have all day!

Nice things like holding the door or flower showers should only be done because you should feel happy that you've done something to make someone happy. Wow, that sentence was confusing. I apologize. Here's a flower:

Besides the red flag implication you're bringing up, I like to think that most people who feel the need to explicate how "good" they are usually do so to convince themselves... If you're doing it right, you shouldn't have to say anything good about yourself. Everyone just knows already.

Thank you for this clarification/reminder. It seems difficult/unpleasant at times to stand up for what's right, especially with peers, but having it spelled out like you've done serves as a very effective wake-up. I'll try to do better at this. Thank you.

LittleThoughts was being sarcastic, you're on the same side.

Okay, I'm outta here. This is getting ridiculous.

I was not the one that made that argument.

"But I know what you mean - and that's exactly why I bought this car. I didn't know shit about car repair, so I bought this old Bug and started getting my hands dirty. I haven't done as much as I'd like, but I like to think I'm getting there."

I've seen the Florida "banana spiders" make webs that span 30-foot gaps between trees like 20 feet in the air. Those guys are ridiculous. They look super scary but I think they're cool as long as they stay off of my face.

Wow, if it weren't for your editor's strong assertion that he knows more about the way the car world works than us peasantly commenters, I would have incorrectly assumed that car makers don't release stats on future product because they don't want to give away any competitive advantages, IP, and not-yet-fixed specs!

Many car journalists roll their eyes when they read comments like these because they know too well how car companies act but, in fairness to these commenters, many of you probably don't how the car world actually works.

Sorry, what do you want me to hang up?

I trololol'd hard. +3 internets to you

Not diesel, don't want

Wow, nice job assuming the total worst interpretation of my post. I was just trying to point out that the fatigue life of aluminum and steel is much different (i.e. aluminum never reaches a fatigue limit). This means that the strength:weight benefit drops a bit for aluminum when it's a very dynamically loaded part.

Don't forget the fatigue characteristic differences, too :)

I'm aware, but I was speaking more generally

Considering his name is SicilianNecktie, I'd say you're dead on.

This is a much better point to bring up. I'm pretty sure though that the key has to be removed from the ignition, and I don't think that's been brought up as an issue — simply that it turns to "accessory" disabling airbags, power steering, and power brakes.
