I thought of that after I posted. Good one!

Great pull here. As soon as I read it I was already mentally playing it in my head.
The two that spring to mind for me are D Boon's on the Ballot Result version of "king of the hill" and (gulp) Steve Vai on PiL's "Ease".
I will admit to this as well. I no longer buy albums based on the reviews alone. If New Pornos get a 4.0 (or a C+) I'm still buying it. As popular music strays further from the 3-5 person guitar based formula the reviews of such things matter less and less to me. I am a dinosaur, in that I love to find new music,…
Thank you for the above post.
yeah my error. Just wanted to post my condolences. Ted Leo tweeted it on the day it happened, which is what would have tied into yours, the lack of AV Club urgency.
Man, the Didjits ruled. Another sad departure. I still play them in heavy rotation. So much fun. So much rock.
The San Tan Brewery is about 2 miles from my house. Good stuff, and their restaurant is quality food too. I like 4 Peaks, but once they got bought by AB I became less enthused. More power to them, but if I'm drinking local it's gonna be REAL local.
They do indeed. One of the few varieties that gets shipped out west. I did however come across Niagara Fall's own Johnny Ryan cherry soda last week. I wept with joy.
I drink Genny on the regular. Mostly the cream ale but the red label as well. I find it to be an easy drinking watery domestic. I take some enjoyment in the nostalgic aspect as all my relatives drank this in Buffalo in the '70s. As a frame of reference my other go to cheap beer is High Life, then regular Budweiser…
Thanks for that. It does help explain the motivations for the cuts to the parts of the AV Club that we have come to expect and know and like. I'm still not thrilled by the changes, but the reality is that seems to be the economics of an industry that is seemingly out of my control.
Yes, a link would be appreciated, if anyone can recall where it was posted.
I was wondering where the concern (and then vitriol) regarding this sea change in the AV Club had gone. I'm glad I'm not alone in my disappointment. As I have bitched about before, it seems like the people/clicks that all websites are looking to capture are increasingly becoming "NOT ME". Vox is such a piece of…
Yes, it was novel that the people actually aged and the story lines became more tailored to adult concerns like losing jobs and pets dying etc… But to do it again? Unconscionable. When the story is over it's time to close the book.
That's because after the demise of dear Bil, his son Jeff took over. So
the new Family Circus is more like a tribute to the original Family
Circus. In fact, they just finished the Disneyland arc. Again.
