Never been to New York, I take it?

I’m just saying that 25 years ago, 270hp out of a V6 was firmly in the “performance/high-strung” camp. Now, that’s an “under-stressed” V6. Similarly, now that we’ve had performance turbo 4-cylinders from the factory at 250-300 for over 15 years, I’d say those would no longer be considered “high-strung”.

I’m always leary of automakers mainstreaming turbo cars. Most of the general public don’t know how to take care of a turbo car.

“So now it’s just a new pig if a sedan with an over stressed engine and transmission.

Since quite a long time...

My deepest, darkest automotive desire is to take one of these (or the generation prior), stick a mean sounding engine in it, and drop it on bags.

By “new and different”, you must have meant, “for trust fund babies and people with money to burn”.

Kinja’d.

I’m going to go ahead and argue that pretty much every 4-cylinder BMW is cool despite their engine. The M10 in 2002s and early 3s is “meh” at best, and often pretty mediocre. Also, hot take: the S14 in the E30 M3 is good, but not legendary. It’s a fun little car for sure, but that S14 is way, waaayyyy overrated.

“WHY WON’T THEY SELL IT HERE?!”

It’s a kei car - so less regulation = less investment needed. Home market means no importing/exporting hassle and patriotic support. Not to mention the Japanese tend to actually like cars with personality.

Not a K-car, but still thus it’s cool

The Salt Flats seem like an excellent idea, but it turns out there’s a reason they cancel speed week when the flats get too wet.

Although a few of these come close, none are able to animate my face into a smiling poop. Thus, CP to this entire list.

In all my time of enjoying cars, I never imagined that I would be drooling over mirrors, yet here we are....

I have a 2015 i3. I know it’s done on a dealer-by-dealer basis, so it’s likely only dealers that sell a high volume of electric cars. Being in SoCal, that means there are a few different ones here that do so.

Actually, they’re perfect for people like you for exactly that reason - you don’t have to think about it.

A lot of dealers have partnerships or loaner programs available for those sorts of things. My BMW dealer offers 15 days of loaner vehicles to i3 owners for longer trips.

I’m going to guess that this isn’t the first time he’s tried and failed to sell a convertible on Craigslist.
