Too bad, they were setting up some interesting world building. It would have been cool to see what they did beyond an origin story, although 3 films would have been more realistic than 6.

I am so sad about this. The movie has it’s faults but the cast was damn near perfect and it’s a shame we won’t see their further adventures. I thought the team’s chemistry was fantastic.

TMP is Roddenberry Unbridled....that’s the purest instance of his”Vision” for Star Trek of any of the shows and movies.

It seems like the least talked about Star Trek movie, and while it’s not my favorite, it seemed like it wanted to be more like a Kubrick film than a Trek film, and that was sort of the style of the time, long, beautiful and almost silent shots of detailed ships…
